Plenty of people want colorful things. That's why they make rainbow banners, etc... I've seen plenty of people go around punching people with heavy gauntlets in lieu of weapons, and use rocks at level 30. I just want people to have more options rather than being forced to make their own banner then be confined two a few types of heraldic armor.
New toys are always a great thing, even when they aren't serious contenders with weapons already in the game. Usually its better that way for devs because people don't complain as much about some new weapon being overpowered.
You use a dagger on your belt to look "smexy," maybe other people want different stuff to wear that they consider "smexy" but don't have many options to do so. These are just additional options to let players be more individualistic rather than looking homogenized. Their look isn't harming you. Let them be peacocks if they want. Birds gotta fly after all.
