2h/Polearms vs Everything else

Could a mod of some sort bring some statistics on what type of weapons are used?

I have a feeling 2 handed weapons being atleast 50% of all classes and maybe 20-30% ranged.
Now why is that? Could it be because using a shield with sword/spear/throwing fucking sucks and only a select few people use them besides the noobs?

The other classes don't suck, people just enjoy 1 shotting other people in their 36/3 builds and being conan. Also, something about them thinking 2h's requiring the most skill or something like that.

There was an awesome report in the forum that showed stats for ALL weapon kills, (number of kills per weapon)separated by EU and NA.  It was really awesome...but you'll have to dig a bit or ask around to find it.

2hands and polearms have in them weapons allowing for massive damage with high Power Strike. As an added bonus, 2-handed weapons are able to hit earlier in their arc than 1-hands while still receiving full damage; this is probably a large reason why people use 2-handed weapons over others- they're easy to use and do well with and are forgiving with their sweet spots.

If I manage to recall the figures correctly 1h/2h and pole were pretty evenly distributed.
danish and german are responsible for more than 40% (50%?) of total damage inflicted by 2h, though

A lot of people enjoy the manual blocking element in the game. For me I wouldn't play if I had to use a shield all the time, would take a lot of the fun out of it. Even if 2h/pole was unfairly nerfed to the ground I would either play them or not play at all

I would love to see how many are actually using 1h/throwing, i have a feeling its 20% max.

If thats the case i feel like something needs to be done.

There is definitly something wrong. Right now there is simply no reason not to grab a greatsword over another weapon when it comes to efficiency as they just have everything you need without much downsides. Massive range, massive damage, insta stab, high speed, hardly visible at low light levels, retarded feint animations and full damage hiltslash.

In my book 2h "hero" should actually be the hardest class instead of the easiest.

I prefer one handers at the moment. Animation feels a lot better than pole/2h animations which are too wide and meant for people who just spam around like fools. If only 2H animations glanced like 1H, many things would be different in this mod.

I agree with the glances.

1h overhead swing is bad.

I say we remove shields and 1h alltogether since nobody is using them.

hahaha fail thread xD

The reason why people go 2h/pole is because they like manual blocking and the melee in the game. And it looks kinda badass to run around with a huge ass weapon and kill a lot of people^^
Shielder are just a boring class...
Throwing is a secondary weapon. Very effective when it comes to fucking over all those archers who run away because they are useless in melee (Devs, fix it!)

Shielder are just a shitty class...

Fixed that for you.

People play 2h/pole because getting lots of kills is fun and that wont happen as a shielder, currently.
Crpg has a serious lack of diversity in weapon usage, go to any server at any time and you'll see nothing but 2h/pole and archer/xbows.
Throwing is a waste of skill points, any veteran will tell you that.
