Probably near worthless, but it'd be hillarious as hell. Preferably add this only when it's possible differentiate blade and non-blade damages so you could be lucky and hit with the blade of your weapon or you could just happen to hit with the handle for 10b or something (spears would probably fly fairly straight though!). Basically I think it should probably be low blunt damage based on weight by default, but if the weight point of the mace or the blade of a bladed weapon hits, it should be primary weapon damage type with some sort of bonus.

I mean, I don't see this as a good addition in terms of time spent vs benefit, but since coding is driven by motivation anyway...

Another solution would be to delete characters without ps.

Wouldn't even miss them....

:EDIT on another note why can archers still be allowed to kite with their super high dmg sniper bows  :?:
I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

Because they don't have the same penalty to speed as a dgs/glaive/other long weapon, despite their bow being like 6 feet long.

Seems like if kiting archers annoys you THAT much the logical thing would be to incorporate something into your build to fight that. Like maybe bring some throwing knives...you don't even need PT for those or WPF either. Or maybe a hunting crossbow + cheap bolts. It always seems strange for people to complain about something so much yet be unwilling to do anything themselves about it. Which makes me think it really isn't as huge a problem to them as they claim.

Not at all.  Kiting isn't a problem.  If the odds are against you, it's smart to retreat and either get in a better position for fighting, or try to link up with some teammates.

The problem with kiting, is the people chasing the kiter.  One of my biggest pet peeves is seeing teammates chase one guy around the map when the enemy still has over 20 people left, and most of them fighting in a group.

Archers need a lot of WPF to be accurate (especially if they have more PD than the requirement of the bow), so it makes sense they would be highly specialized in shooting arrows, and would prefer to do that over fighting with a 0 slot hammer.  I don't get all the rage against people running away as an archer when an infantry group gets close.  Maybe you can rage if they are the last one alive, but it's not that hard to catch a kiter if you have 2 people chasing (which you should only be doing at the end of the round, and even then it probably makes more sense to get behind cover and wait for MotF).

I still don't see it as a problem.

And I never said your idea was bad or good, I just said kiting isn't a problem.

I actually like the idea, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to throw your weapon.  And granted it should probably be pretty slow, and not super strong (aka would need a good amount of balancing) I still don't see any reason not to let us throw weapons.

I also feel the same way about picking up weapons.  You should be able to pick up almost any weapon with any strength of character (same with bows, I should be able to physically pick up a bow with 0 PD), with the exception being the very heavy weapons, so maybe make it so you need 1/3 or 1/2 the strength needed to pick something up?.  But if you don't meet the strength/pd requirement, you would swing the weapon terribly slow, and for shit damage (same with the bow, you'd probably shoot way off to the side of the crosshair, but you should still be able to physically pick it up).

I think this adds a lot of potential for "Wow, that was fucking cool", and not much potential for "Wow, that was fucking gay." Imo, that's how all features should be added. Really, the only people that could seriously complain about this is the (mostly archer) kiters, and I can't think of many people that wouldn't find a kiter complaining about something being gay hilarious.

I'd make a mess in my drawers if I could throw my full health buddy my masterwork polearm when I'm blackbarred and about to have a shitstorm rain down upon me.
