Graphics config for slow cpu

Hey folks so ive been playin MBWarband for a couple months now, my cpu is 2.2ghz 1 gig of ram and a g4 6100 vid card. I run the game on the lowest settings and the dxlevel at the lowest you can choose(cant remember what version) anywhoo i thought my gameplay was relatively smooth, thinking I was not handicapped at all and was running pretty smooth, until I was playing singleplayer, seiging a castle when i got to the part where you fight inside, and I was like wow this is so smooth and realized that I am actually handicapped :).  Ive improved various games fps (cs source tf2 most steam fps) with gfx configs and was curious if anyone could point me in the direction of one or mabie just give me some pointers to improve my fps.
Thanks alot

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but seriously get a better cpu, graphics card and more RAM. Even doing one of those things is going to improve your peformance. Other than that the most you can do with that hardware is just make sure your hard drives are defragged often, can't really imagine what else you can do when everything is at the minimum level on DX7.

EDIT: Don't even know what that GPU is tbh. All searches bring up apple and mac, in which case I would tell you to get a PC, lol. Plus this has nothing to do with cRPG general discussion, it's a tech post for Warband.

Good lord 6100 is a nokia mobile aint it?

You got any funds for new hardware? Anything literally £50 will get you something better.

I'm also interested in advice :P

What do you run?

hm.. let's see, don't really know..

dxdiag says:

Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz (2 CPUs)
1,5 gigs of ram
ATI Radeon HD 4670

Win XP
now that I look at this, I think I actually shouldn't be forced to run at 640 x 480.. or not?

1280x1024 tbh, you updated your cards recently?

Not sure if they are usable links when pasted

spending $30 on a lower end new card, and then $30 to add another gig of ram will do wonders for you.

Or just bite the bullet and upgrade your whole system. I just spent around $350 and got a quadcore AMD phenom xII system with 4 gigs of ram. just moved my old video card over since its a 512mb dd3 card and i didnt have any issues with it before.

Also alot of the graphic settings in warband dont seem to matter, My old system ran just as good at all low settings, as it did at all medium settings, just a really funky game

yes my vid card is integrated. do you think just getting the next step of nvidia card up would improve performance.  Have been wondering if the integrated cards lack the luster of an actual vid card?

its pretty impressive that a cpu i built 8 years ago can still run alottve new games, actually scratch that I think warband is one of the only newer games i can run well along with source mods. I didnt realize that buying a new video card would improve my game performance....my mind has been officially blown by all the help.

Because these games require nothing, tbh your motherboard couldnt run many cards, your eventually going to have to upgrade it anyway it will eventually die a slow and painfull death otherwise.

What sort of budget do you have? If your happy with it then keep it and put up with it being sub standard but id have to upgrade or id cry...

Both your CPU and GPU are better than mine, I have Intel Core 2 2.4ghz ( 2cpus) an ATI Radeon HD 3850, have 3gb RAM though ( well, I have more physically but XP only uses 3gb ).

I run the game on 1280x1024 with most things on maximum barring some settings I just don't like or don't feel I need ( stuff like enviroment shadows, they make the game harder to play when it's night time in cRPG and it's light in my room ). My FPS only seems to go down to 50 sometimes lower, it's usually only a bad map and a full 120 server that seems to make it drop lower than that, but most of the time it's like 60-100 ( capped the FPS at 100 )

You should try to change render_buffer_size in C:\Users\username\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\rgl_config.txt
Mine is 1000 now & it really helps.

Or you can try my "Scary mod" Google translate

It is for 1.127(after it i bought new PC) but should work with the latest patch & crpg(Just install it first to Game directory(not in module) then patch with 1.134).
It replaces models & textures with the crappy analogs. => Less CPU, GPU & RAM usage.
I had a special version for crpg but my old PC took it to the grave.
