or just make all threads other than announcements private and only accessible to registered users... and make it so no one but moderators can post in announcements. nother forum i visit ran into issues with google as well and that was how they solved it.

Recruit some mods (no I don't want to be a mod) and give them some power (don't let players dictate to them). This can be tricky since the sort of people who want power can often be those who would abuse it, but if you get a nice handful of mods who can be trusted you could make this forum/community 10x better and more active than it is currently. Just make it the sort of place players want to take part in, and the sort of place that doesn't have google breathing down your necks, threatening to remove your income.

People get away with far too much, its virtually unmoderated and without meaningful punishments. But that doesn't mean people should feel they have no freedom, thats where common sense comes in. Atm though its far too much geared towards the sort that get your google ads taken away

I really really wonder why we haven't got this already. Seems like a good idea to me since you can always just login with your cRPG account.

Because 99% of forum users are lurkers. They turn into posters after getting a feel for the forum first. Its better to let people view from wherever so you don't end up with too small a community. Most people stay lurkers too

When faced with a choice of funding forums/servers versus serving lurkers - I'd say go for funding. Also - I think it should be possible to make character account linked with forum account 1:1, so that if you play c-rpg, you have an account in forums which you get linked to via the "visit forum" button.

Also the people who downvote me also wanted to keep voice spamming in the game. These are the guys that stand to lose the most from some moderation. This place shouldn't be like a private 4chan for some minority, spoiling it for everyone

You shouldn't have to make it private so only registered can see posts, should just have a decent forum community that doesn't post that stuff in the first place
