I have my Master's Dissertation Presentation in less than a month. I was thinking about putting that on the front cover of the results handout I'm putting together.
Do you think it'd get me more marks?

I'm just going for the standard degree. I got so utterly bored and it had nothing to do with what the course said it would be, so it's just a case of "get the letters and leave". I can say I've got a Master's degree but it won't mean anything because it's nothing to do with "Computer and Information Security" like it says on the tin...

The closest it got was the Forensics, I learnt nothing in "Advanced Programming Skills for the Web" (I'm not doing a bloody web dev course for goodness sakes!), I really didn't need "Formal Approaches to Software Development" when I had TWO units of that during my standard degree on top of Project Management. It really felt like some sort of refresher course, particularly considering I'm the youngest person there. There's two other people in their twenties and the rest are 30+ all with jobs.

Anyway, the brochure lied to me and so did everyone I talked to about the course! 

tl;dr - The course is utter wank. Just give me my letters and let me leave!

In my experience only the degree and the rough direction of it matters.
People gonna expect from you to be able to work yourself into anything mostly by yourself. At least that's how it works here in Germany.

Everyone with a degree of Master and higher is expected to get into anything roughly related to their studies. Only very very few people are deeply specialized and hired for that only.

I'm honestly more annoyed that I spent my days from 16 to 21 with a part time job (still got it just for living costs) to earn enough for standard University, then I had the audacity to go for another degree which is completely useless in terms of teaching me anything for a further chunk of money...

I feel it's been quite the waste of a year, but I could honestly look at the amount of time I've spent pissing away playing games and wonder what I could have achieved if I had worked for that entire time!

I know the feeling. I've been at University for quite some time now - longer than I should have been tbh - and when I meet people who didn't go for a degree but started working early...

My house, my car, my wife, my kids... it pulls you down a little with your part-time job, the apartment barely bigger than a toilet and always trying to get by with the few bucks you have. At least here in Germany you can expect to get more living quality due to higher payment when you're done. That's not always comforting tho...
