[BAN] DrHorrible
« on: April 07, 2011, 12:42:19 am »
It was on the NA siege server at around 6:30 PM. This DrHorrible guy got the bug where you're invincible so he used it to get his team to win instead of going spectator. There was a lot of people telling him to go spectator but he did not and simply kept walking around/killing us even though we smashed his face so much he was completly red but was still alive. I'm sure I wasn't the only one that saw him (hope you guys that saw him will post SSs or video if possible) unfortunatly I could not get a SS myself in time but if you look in the chat logs you'll prolly see the people reaction around 6:30 PM.

I know I don't have proof like a good SS but plz take the time to look into it.  I just hate to have all good teamwork ruined by some low dude exploiting a glitch when we explicitly told him how to fix it.

Thx a lot!

Edit: it was 6:30 PM at GMT -05.

*lol* - the incident was freaking funny (and I was on the losing team myself).

Doc was invulnerable indeed and kept running around like crazy among the defenders, all going nuts and trying to kill her - took about 40 full hits and had an arrow in the head and was covered in blood - same effect as god mode in single player.

actually she did not exploit the situation, could have killed all of us, but mainly kept running around.

Frankly - if that glitch happened to me, I would have enjoyed it as well, and it certainly drove people nuts... :)

so relax, I killed her twice since, the effect is clearly nothing permanent. Still can't stop laughing though, was really too freaky...

i was there and I agree

he wasn't attacking anybody and probably played it better than most people would've. Just running around in a mob

it was rather amusing i must say

these bugs happen from time to time

Mos def no ban worthy lol

The thing is, he did in fact killed some people during the exploitation of that glitch on top of making the team that was suppose to lose win instead. Regardless of the win/loosing thingy, this is a bannable offence, therefore if the admins don't want to send the wrong message this guy needs to be punished.
The rule is simple, if you see your glitched in god mode, you're OBLIGED to go spectator to fix it, not 2 minutes after, not next round but exactly ON THE SPOT LIVE.

I disagree, I was one of the people chasing DrHorrible around hitting him for funsies (Because I knew she was invincible). While for the most part he was running around and not hitting anyone, I did see him hit several people on our team. He was also the reason we lost, despite many people telling him what could be done to fix the problem he did nothing. Instead, he sat at the flag, delayed the rounds end, and ultimately caused the defenders to lose.

Give the guy a break, he killed the love of his life.

Also, accusations like this are best followed up with some kind of photographic or video evidence if you want them to be seriously considered.

People have been banned for doing exactly this before...

kinda funny. There are lots of chars running around who 60% of their playing time are busy harrassing teammates, wounding, kicking from walls, throwing in peoples backs, doing nothing, building ladder-whatevers, etc.... those are illegitimate actions and done on purpose. Sometimes they get kicked, usually not, and I have seen chars doing this for weeks without any action being taken.

Now a (usually) constructive (& successful) player has fun with a glitch he most likely did not even provoke (this seems to happen), 1 (ONE) round is affected by this, and people shout for ban or even better permaban... joke. Well, why would the legal system on C-rpg make more sense than that in real life... lol...

Dude if you read my first post I could not get in time a SS cuz I was trying to kill him and then explain him how to fix his glitching but he did not listened. Also there's 4 people including me that says he did it. I don't think you can get more proof! Also, there's another thread about him:http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,3675.0.html

So that makes 5: Newton, Hirlok, Sitting Bull, Konrax (see link) and myself...and that's without the server log where admins can certainly see the chat with people explaining him how to fix the glitch. I think you don't really need more proof.

We're not asking about a permaban dude, we just want "justice" like you so well said it. It's against the rules to exploit any kind of glitch, even the ones you don't do/get on purpose.

There are very few people who are able to replicate this glitch on demand, usually it is totally random. I am extremely disappointed that Drhorrible did not fix the glitch when told how and if he so much as wounded one enemy while he was experiencing the glitch he used an unfair advantage to help his team in some way. However I do not feel that this warrants a ban. I will speak with Drhorrible about this and he will be made to understand that he should not have fun at the expense of others.

Thx Nindurr for the quick response! I'm happy it has come to your attention and that you'll fix this situation.

Hope to see ya around on the server more often! :)
