On the scoretab if you have more than one player having the same banner, they all look different.
All Barabe and Mr_Turtle use same banner.

Maybe they just use different banners? How do they look in-game (the overhead circle thing)?

Yep, I faced the similar situation with other banners aswell. I think thumbnails should be precalculated (like resized 16x16 or 20x20 icons) so they're not calculated in game.
