Less night time
« on: July 26, 2012, 03:15:47 pm »

It becomes annyoing after time. More than 60% of the time Im playing on night time and it really hurts my eyes and often makes it impossible to see something (with any graphical set up).

I would find it okay if 20% of all rounds are night, but currently it's just too much.

Yes, the sun shines way too few times in crpg!
Werfried is a "Schönwetterkämpfer"

Also, is it possible to remove fog from duel server? It is so annoying if you can`t find your duel buddy in the fog ...

I guess it wouldn't be so annoying if nighttime weren't for several maps in a row. More like "map1: day, map2: day, map3: sunset, map4: night, map5: sunrise, map6: day, map7: day, map8: day..." and not day, day, night, night, night, night, night, day, day, day...
The logic of war seems to be that if a belligerent can fight he will fight.

They should add skybox as in burning sun, devastating earth. It's pretty much what we get in Spain anyways.

Just edit your skyboxes.txt and problem solved.

The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.

Fighting at dusk/night sucks.  Especially on the fastest horse in the game, sometimes it's hard to see someone holding a pike before I impale myself.

Most of the battles during this time period were fought when it was daylight (for obvious reasons).  Not sure many commanders are going to initiate a battle at 9pm at night.

It's not a "problem", it's just harder to pickup the weapons and their swing directions as easily as during the day.  If you notice literally no difference at all between night and daytime fighting, you have an amazing monitor (with brightness turned up way too high), you've altered your game files, or you're lying.

So you're like everyone else, you notice a difference.  I don't see anyone saying they "have a problem" with nighttime.  I do see people saying it's not as ideal as fighting during the day.  I never said I don't see shit in game, nice reading comprehension.  I said weapons and their attack directions are harder to pick up than during the day.  AKA a difference between night and day.

Thank you for agreeing with this thread and my previous posts, although you apparently don't realize it yet.

You say this and then dare to say you don't have a problem with nighttime? If there is no problem there is no need for a fix. fixing is something you do with problems, not with things you just notice...

Jeez... Just because i noticed something you say that you know better what i want and that i see a problem in it and want it fixed...

I don't have a problem with it, I just don't prefer it because it's not ideal for fighting.  I generally am able to see people, and their weapons, and swing direction at night.

You may have noticed that I said sometimes, not all the time.  I'm like you, and everyone else, we notice a difference between night and day fighting.  Thank you for agreeing with me, while defiantly typing otherwise.

You should understand that I don't want the night time to be removed. It is often fun to play with night time. I also don't want day time only. If I wanted that I could play native Multiplayer instead of crpg. But I don't want that. :P
I only ask for less rounds and maps with night time. Since about 2 - 3 months more than 60% of the maps I play are set at night time - and that is often a problem because I simply don't see anything. It doesn't matter that I set my monitor's brightness to max, it doesnt help. Neither changing any graphical setting helps.

Already got lots of headaches by that and often made me quit the game session due to that.
