Really depends on your playstyle. Arabian is a great horse but dies very fast.

This is my build, I die easily when hit but its a pretty fast build, also when dehorsed I can stay in the fight with 7 ATH and a backup weapon. If you want to use Lance only at the beginning and then switch to 1h/shield you could put all the points in 1h instead of polearms and maybe not use athletics but go for shield instead.

Well i can suggest you my own cavalry build. I think it's also useful for on foot fighting.

I'm using heavy lance and random polearm on my back (i'm using shield sometimes to avoid arrows, bolts etc. my shield on horse is blue and purple kite shield) , my horse is champion destrier i never use anything else since it's best in my opinion and much more fit than other horses to my playing style.

15 AGI

7 Power Strike
5 Riding
5 Shield
5 Athletics
5 Weapon Master

Whole weapon points on polearm. You can hit hard with this build also champion destrier's charge is very good also with high speed bumps are so useful.

This one was working fine for me. Don't know much about 1h+cav so i don't know if you need weapon point on 1h or not.

This is the build I use. Usually end up surviving longer than my horse does. You can swap around athletics/shield for more WM.

Arabian, for sure.  For whatever horse you want to ride your agility should be just meet the minimum requirements.

you could do that, or just trade your point for a horsie... depends on if you wanna gamble a bit
