I'd love a few more game modes.  Coordinated players in a VIP mode could all wear the same gear, thus befuddling the enemy team.  Or, if they are forced into a unique outfit, everyone could get to play a damsel or gentleman in distress.

XP/Gold rewards for doing the job.

Going rambo won't give you XP and Gold, but holding territories, helping the flag bearer will.

Couple of resets before we actually made our own "protect the vip" mode Maybe some of you guys remember that we were protecting a peasant. Just for fun.
Escaping from a siege would be quite epic. To win the game, you have to escort the VIP through the enemy infested halls so a small group of bodyguards can stand against large group of invaders.
Or a group of Swadian knights (cav) alike can try to protect the VIP against Khergit horse archers. Not just VIP, but protecting a certain object would be fun too.
Example : Knights vs Bandits the object is to defend or to steal the chest. Imagine that bandits have to reach the chest and press E long enough to open it. Something like defusing the bomb in CS.

"Defend the flag" is the best game mod. I played it on 1866 and it was absolutely brilliant:
- Encourages team work and works very well even without voice communication.
- Fluent and dynamic: Unlike capture the flag, the location of the flag is constantly on the move. Tactics are flexible, escapes the siege mentality!
- Encourage short range engagement: INFANTRY ROLE! thinning out enemy numbers with archer rooftop sniping is nice, but infantry need to get to it and grab it. Cavalry cannot carry it either.
- Fast constant action: short respawn timers are possible. I don't know if there really was a check for this in 1866 but I always seemed to spawn away from the flag, so there is no sudden respawns of enemies into the action. Better spend the time gathering forces and tactically advancing to the objective than dead in spectator mode.

I think it will even work very nicely with the crpg multiplier system.
"Defend the flag" can be brilliant for crpg!

This thread makes me drool. Too much awesomeness. Thanks for considering this, chadz!

Me wants Capture the Flag, Defend the Flag, King of the Hill, 'escort VIP out of castle' and 'defend the trebuchet and catapult' gamemodes!  :D

Would be awesome. Just awesome. The new maps lately on EU have been very refreshing. New tactics and just great fun getting to know the new maps.

If we could get even a fraction of the new gamemodes, that would really make cRPG more varied and entertaining.
