IMO Convert ten thousand troops into its worth in gold. AKA kill ten thousand dudes and sell their armor/rations to supply the rest.

And by armor, I mean selling body parts to scientific research associations.
Winterly's Stuff(selling Courser/buying head and foot armor)
I love how most EU players insert an imaginary "f" into my name: Winterfly.

You're an idiot.  When I scouted a week or so ago for Hospitallers there were over 11,000 troops in the castle (not sure on the population).  Hospitallers didn't dump any troops in, and we were very skeptical to attack a castle that had so many troops until we saw what happened with Jelbegi.  Our intention was to take this castle going back to a couple weeks ago, it's not our fault if someone dumps troops in the castle (which I'm assuming they thought would help the AI defend the castle, as I and others would have assumed before Jelbegi example).

It would make sense if the castle doesn't have enough money to properly equip all the troops that it only spends money to equip half the troops...I'm sure there's gotta be a way to code this.

as skeptical as mercs when they attacked Jelbegi? :))
you got big alliance, well all of NA, if not u then ur friends been doing this :) maybe its a long term plan

I can't remember if I read it on the forum or somewhere else but bandits have been throwing troops in Rindyar since the fall as part of a strategy to make it untakable, not to water down the quality of gear.

It had about 10k in mid-May, looks like 14k now though.  :P

NA_cRPG_3   Siege   Wed 22:11   Knights Hospitallera:4700   Rindyar Castlea:14091

Will there be a TS for the defenders to be in? I think with some coordination we might still be able to give the attackers a hard time.

I suggest the Nditions TS 62.104.20.250:10027 and we can hop in the Remnants channel if need be.
For while the fire in the heart of a single Remnant still burns... can Stratia truly have fallen?

don't think its possible, most NA players will fight on their side, and EU players with pitchforks and hunting bows can't really kill them in full plate mw armor.

Not sure Nebun, I count over 20 NA on the defender side - with that we can make a difference.

If DRZ and other EU join us in TS to coordinate and we steal some weapons off the attackers... let's see  :)

I heard that the lord of Jelbegi managed to flee the castle and took refuge in Rindyar. Maybe he'll be able to give them some tips on how to avoid to end up like him.
Wasn't there something planned to bypass this? Something about AI buying enough equipment only for a limited amount of troops, and not the full garrison? Whoever is attacking Rindyar might get a nasty surprise.

*cough*
Don't.

You call me an idiot and right after that you confirm that you try to exploit the broken game mechanics, nice one, go ahead man.

There's two NA castles still controlled by AI, one we already weakened for another NA faction (Jeirbe castle) and the other we wanted for ourself (Rindyar).

I never said we are trying to exploit broken game mechanics, there's a castle and we want it.  We scouted it out a couple weeks ago and felt it would be too difficult to take the castle because there were too many troops in it.  That is a direct rebuttal to your claim that we or our allies have been dumping troops in the castle.  We wouldn't have dumped troops in the castle if we felt it would hurt our chances of taking it...it goes against common sense.

So you have been rebutted.  As far as us exploiting game mechanics, we are not.  We have had our eyes on this castle, we have no control over what the AI buys for the defenders.  All we can control is our attack force.

Should we not try to take the castle?  And for you people saying either we or our allies have been putting troops in here, you're wrong.

The real solution is that the AI should always plan for X number of troops, or the number it really had, whichever is LESS.

For example, a castle would always aim to equip 3000 troops.

If it has 2000 troops, it will equip 2000.

If it has 15,000 troops, it will equip 3000.

Actually trying to equip for 15,000 troops is ridiculous on the face of it because even if it could do it, there's not enough time in the match to go through more than about 3000 anyway.  I think the most I've seen killed in a single match was 2800, off the top of my head.

This would mean that dumping troops on a castle would actually benefit it because it's that many more waves of 3000 any attacker would have to go through.
Crush your enemies; see them driven before you; hear the lamentations of their women.

the facts of the matter are as follows:

There are 14000 troops in that castle, none of which came from hospitaller or allies.
This particular mechanic abuse was not realized by anyone in the community until a week ago with jelbegi castle
A fix for this particular abuse i'm sure would take several weeks to produce and the devs already have a shit-ton on their plate
If we had received a warning or request from devs to not attack the castle until a patch were in place, we would have.
DRZ won strat 1 by abusing game mechanics, so don't try to act like saints all ya'll UIF peeps.
If we hadn't attacked the castle, it would be the same issue, but with a different clan.
Ya'll are butthurt that we're gonna get like 12000 free troops....Its called situational awareness, if you had some you might be in as good of a position as us hospitallers and our allies.

One other thing, I counted the other day and there are like 22 AI fiefs left, only like 4 of which are in NA territory. Why don't all ya'll EU fella's get off your hineys and start taking some fiefs. Seriously, ya'll have got the blinders on something fierce about attacking the templars that you've made no effort to get some major XP on EU ping and instead are stuck in a conflict that inevitably brings you into NA ping. Seriously, as far as the EU is concerned, its like everyone verses Templars. What have you gained from it? I'd be willing to bet ya'll could have gained more XP and fought on solely your own ping by attacking one of these 18 AI fiefs still in EU land. This is also a good argument for the server split to be more even on the next strat. These numbers seem to be evident that NA is more active in strategus than EU. At the very least on equal grounds and should consequently be receiving an equal share of the map (server wise).

Hi, my name is Farrix and I have my head up my ass.
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

ATS put all the troops there. We realized how it would work a few months ago, and started pumping troops into rinyar. We thought it would be funny to slaughter peasants wearing plate armor. But it took too long to build up the castle and everyone got bored of it, so we left.

I am suprised it took everyone so long to figure it out though.

edit: It's not actually a good strategy, if we just were to use those troops to attack rinyar the normal way we would have taken it much sooner. But strat is pretty dead in NA, and this seemed like a good way to have a battle everyone would have thought was fun.
