Level 32 dilema
« on: July 18, 2012, 08:51:18 pm »

I'm going to lvl 32 with a ultra hybrid 1h/2h +shield + cav+ xbow

15/21
Weapon Master:7
Athletics:6
Riding:5
Iron Flesh:5
Shield:4
Horse Archery:0
Power Strike:5
Power Draw:0
Power Throw:0

1H 126
2H 126

I've got the choice to go Cav 7 or to go PT 2 (Francisca).
But I will have only 40 wpf at throwing, that would allow me only a very light armor (less than 14).
Or go cav 7 for mounted xbow.

No Xbow wpf???

My build for that would be (and might actually go for that as my last build, only missing one heirloom)

15 STR
21 AGI

5 IF
5 PS
5 SHIELD
7 ATH
3 RIDING
3 HA
7 WM

100 1H
100 2H
121 XBOW

(Add up my current MW items, fighting axe, elite cav shield, light crossbow, steel bolts, studded leather over mail, mail gauntlets, khergit cavalry helmet, rus cav boots and rouncey and you're all set!!! )

I don't see what xbow wpf really change. I shoot straight right without nothing.
Maybe reload speed and upkeep ?

Winterly's Stuff(selling Courser/buying head and foot armor)
I love how most EU players insert an imaginary "f" into my name: Winterfly.

I have very little experience playing cav.

But I have always wondered why cav would use 2 diffrent fightingstyles. Spending wpf of both.
Is it not better to find a Polearm or 2Hand that works from horse, aswell as on foot?

Like a Hafted Blade/Glaive or Morningstar?

Sure , it might be an odd playstyle, but the upside is you only need to bring 1 weapon, and since you do not split your wpf, you will get less repaircost. 1 MW item. And you are more proficient.

Forget the shield, get some tincan armor, the horse will carry you anyway.
And the no-req 1slotcrossbow (Light crossbow or hunting)

No, you don't.
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

damage or reload speed?

xbow wpf dont give bonus dmg, it give only accuracy and reload speed, between 1 and 100 is not rly big difference, you will see good acc boost only with 150wpf or higher.
shooting at people from a reachable place as last man standing is not delaying. Even if you're on the other side of the map.

Don't forget the decreased upkeep chances.

Even if it barely does something.

Wpf hasnt increased reload speed anymore. It only increases accuracy now

Play around on the damage calculator http://infinitum.dyndns.org/crpg/calc.htm, and you'll see that any Power Throw less than 4 does pitiful damage compared to even a light crossbow. You don't just throw a couple points in power throw, you either go hybrid with 4/5 PT, or full throwing with 8+. So I suggest going 7 ath/7 riding when you level.

That was my first idea. I've a thrower alt wich i'll retire soon and I fear to be frustated without anything to throw on faces  8-)

Maybe i should get some 2 points at HA instead.

with 5 ps don't bother putting that points in 1h. You will not hit anything.
I have better suggestion. Why don't you make your main with some pure build like pure 2h or pure 1h or pure cav...
And then make some alts and play with them classes you like. You don't even need to retire that alts, one week of playing and you will have 30 lvl alt.
What is the point of getting to higher lvl then 31 if you are gonna make some shit hybrid build that is strang as 30 lvl one.

maybe because he want to have 2 tactical option on the battlefield that are as good as any other lvl 30 character IN THE SAME CHARACTER.

Also can have the same 2 option in Strat as you can only use your main there.

Yep, exactly. And also to not spend time and XP to lvl up alts.
I know i'm not so powerfull but I've a lot of fun that way.
I like to switch my Langes Messer 1H/2H in a fight. It gives me more combat options and surprise effect.

I could build a 2 hander tincan 36/3 but it's quite boring.
