Plumed Barbutte *[Model & Pictures Now!]*
« on: July 12, 2012, 03:18:40 pm »

I would like to suggest an idea for a Plumed Barbutte helmet. The main purpose is to signify an officer or leader if you will. Something recognizeable in a hectic crowd/melee.

The plume was historically black horse hairs. I got the opinions of a few people in the community, and they all agreed that having them a color like black would not only look the best, but keep people options for buying it open, due to black being a color that can fit with most anything.

I have a working render for the helm that I use as a custom skinned pack that replaces the barbutte for a plumed barbutte, but I would thuroughly enjoy seeing it implimented into the game as part of a armor and weaponry pack I am working on.

Yes, because writing you have something is the same as linking an image.

There are so many newmy old friends who want new items but never have the brains to post complete and high quality models with textures.

This is something I can bear if I get more helmets in the game.

Bear it all you want but not gonna happen. Usually the only items that get added are bulk OSP-items.

Occasionally there are some sets that get added like the khazak stuff, which was only a helmet and a body piece. But again, this was added together with a lot of other themed items. I believe it got added around the same time as the ottoman stuff.

Naivete is a poor quality, which all newmy old friends seem to share.

Are your criticisms always consisting of newmy old friend? I'm at work and have no access to my model to post at this time.

Hype the hell down before you hurt yourself. You'll get your model soon enough to critique.

Well you are a newmy old friend, that part wasn't criticism but a fact.

And your suggestion is overly subjective and ridiculous.

I would like to suggest an idea for a Plumed Barbutte helmet. The helm we have now is very choice, so to say. But I would love to see it with a small plume to suggest an officer or leader if you will. Something recognizeable in a hectic crowd/melee. A vibrant Royal Blue , or vibrant Royal Red to be exact.

Bolded out for easy revision.

And to go even further, all the redundancy in your expressions:

The helm we have now is very choice, so to say. But I would love to see it with a small plume to suggest an officer or leader if you will. Something recognizeable in a hectic crowd/melee. A vibrant Royal Blue , or vibrant Royal Red to be exact.

1: So to speak of what? Don't get it.
2: Leader and Officer is basically the same thing, redundant expression.
3: To be exact of what? Royal Blue and Royal Red, only difference is colour. There's nothing that needs elaboration.

Don't write something for the sake of writing it or to seem more "intelligent". That's called being pretentious.

And...
The helm we have now is very choice...

Do I even need to say it?

Wow, did you just draw this up? Not bad. Could use some TLC, but I couldn't have done better myself! Well done.

I just pulled a texture from one of the modders (betaknight) and added it in place of the barbutte.

What program did you use?
Wings 3D?

No No, dont take that the wrong way. I love it. I'm at work, still, or I would attempt at 3D modeling a barbutte with plume as you have.

As per my model of the plumed barbutte I have now; it isn't a barbutte with plume. It's the roman legionaire corynthian with forwards plume.

I decided to try it out last night minutes before I went to sleep. Looked ok, but was out of place clearly. That is why I posted here to suggest someone adding a plumed barbutte. You sir proved it could be done!

Again might I ask... What program do you prefer to modify and texture models? The tutorials on the talewords thread all suggest the same program.
