Armor heirloom bonuses

I've probably started similar or almost the same thread before some time. But bumping it is harder than making a new thread

Anyways, I'm still having the same dilemma and that is:

Why triple loomed leather armor has +4  modifier while medium and heavy armor have +5?

I've already got one possible answer to that question and that's because it's based on percentage. Makes sense in theory but that's not how things work in cRPG. Light armor is gimped even if you give it +5 modifier.

But if it's percentage based, why heavy armor has only +5 and not +6 modifier?

I'm aware that this is pretty trivial issue and won't make a change ingame but I still would like to hear valid reason why?

I just want to see armor having same modifier or being scaled by armor value and that requires buff to heavy armor.

Currently, medium armor seems like the best choice. Giving +2 (gloves+armor combo) to leather or plate will even things a bit.

lordly +5 bodyarmor and +5footarmor

The light strange armor is 0,3 heavier and 90g cheaper than the heavy Aketon. And gets 1 body and foot armor more :!:

I don't care if my +3 Ragged Outfit and +3 Blue Gambeson are gimped by one armor. That's what the leather gloves are for.  8-)

yupp, the percent thing bothers me alot with the retirement system.
weak items will be always weak and the good ones become even better.

heavy armour had a higher bonus in the past, but it was lowered to even things a bit out.

The reason for the gimped low weight heirloomed armor is an elaborate plan to make many small disadvantages for archers the only class that really has to wear light armor or be penalized.

Same thing with Arrows vs Bolt heirlooms, and Crossbow vs Bow heirlooms

Should really be the other way around, bonus to light armor looms, pretty fragile already.

Its a conspiracy!

I wouldn't change loom values anymore, was pretty fucking OP having fully loomed armor before the armor loom nerf.

I think Reinforced is good as it is (+4, +4). But it's bad compared to the Lordly Stats, meaning that people are not so likely to heirloom light armor, which decreases diversity and increase the amount of Kuyaks.

My solution would be to give Light Armor a different +3 stats, which would be: +4, +4 and -50 gold reduction to upkeep. Alternatively, they could have a weight decrease on +3 making them also a good heirloom option.

That's one way to do it.

Problem is that currently medium armor is simply the best choice and something has to be done about that.

Medium armor used to be +7 as well. Was broken then and it's just a little less broken now.

Still want to hear Paul's reasoning.

Unrandom the damage and heavy armor should get a nice buff. Not that I think heavy armor actually needs a buff, but unrandomizing the damage atleast a bit would be a welcome change.

I don't get the problem, it makes a lot of sense light armour gets a lesser buff from looming. It's already a lot more cost-effective than heavy armour, changing the loom buff would just make it even more.

I wear light armor because my shield weighs a metric fuckton. So, to keep up and not get raped from 2h in kuyaks jumping, helicoptering, hiltslashing and backpedlling, jumping, facehug range stabbing pikemen I wear light armor with my 6athletics.
