Moderation for banners,
good. Having avoided the regular banner pack almost forever it was quite discouraging to see the 'lulz' banners suddenly forced upon all players.
Those who dislike the change, ask yourselves why exactly is it so important for you that your banner is visible to everyone?
Cause and effect. It has nothing to do with
identification.
Everyone can use whatever banner they like, simply edit the banner files which is extremely easy, but of course when there's no 'effect' to using those obscene banners suddenly it isn't "fun".
There is absolutely zero down-side to banner moderation - except potential delays regarding submissions/changes etc.
However, regarding that; why not make all submitted banners add to a list where moderators can quickly accept or deny them for the launcher, instead of having people manually message everyone, seems like quite the hassle. You already have something similar for name changes you should be able to replicate. Let clans change the background colour freely though.
If you want to please everyone: Could add something similar to a "Family filter" e.g. people tick their banner uploads as 'Obscene' (or whatever label
) - then all those banners tagged as 'Obscene' will show as their normal slot banners to those who have the "Family filter" (medieval filter!) on, and all those who want the obscene banners can switch off the filter.
