I don't know if its for real but my friend works for EA and got a chance to talk to a couple of guys at paradox and apparently don't quote me on this they are working on a new mount and blade, but as my friend works for EA he might have been talking about the with fire and sword game, but he did say this conversation happened like a month ago so I don't think that it is with fire and sword.

I can only hope Taleworlds won't join the bandwagon of modern games.

They always forget about gameplay, it's just GRAPHICS. duh.

A good melee combat system like this shouldn't be wasted, but I think they know this too.

I'm still scratching my head why Taleworlds hasnt released more mod friendly code like Valve's SDK.  Clearly multiplayer is keeping their game & community afloat.

They actually did that a couple of times I think. I think the first instance of crpg you kind of had to download and upload your character because server connectability didn't exist. Ofc, for every game there comes a time where the developers get tired of patching it.

Also the publisher is Paradox Interactive.

EA ruined enough game series already.

He didn't say M&B2 was being developed by EA, only that this guy working at EA had spoken to someone at Paradox (publishers of the M&B series), who had said that a new M&B title was in development. That shouldn't really be a surprise for anybody, though. All I can say is I hope TaleWorlds put more effort into it than WFAS. :P

If I am correct, WFAS was a mod for Warband, and Talewords signed either the modders, or someone else to make it Standalone.
It was a big mistake.

Still, it "started" out as a DLC, so I had no big hopes for it.

Felt like the creators of this were like how Treyarch is related to Infinity Ward. They use the franchise name, but make shitty games.
(Sorry Treyarch fans, it's my opinion after playing Treyarch games compared to IW games.)

I don't think TW should be working on a MB2 when there are some things they can still fix in Warband. But before MB2 lets hope we are all doing strategus :D

Well, the fact that they moved on to release WFAS and are now patching that instead of WB shows that they consider this game pretty much finished. It seems unlikely that much work, if any, will be done on WB, though I suppose we could hope some of the benefits of WFAS patching are applied here as well. Still, the real object for future hopes probably has to be M&B2, M&B3, WB2 or whatever they end up calling it.
Don't.
