I would actually like the possibility to either give 1 report point, or 2.
That's way, it's up to the victim to decide if it was : intentionnal, stupid, etc... (1point) and very damaging (1 extra point) or just "shit happens, no probelm" (0 points).

No automatic "sorry" though.

That way it would also be 2 points. :D

No matter how good you are, there are circumstances where your target dies milliseconds before your swing lands, and you TW. I've had this happen 3 times in a single round. Most people are reasonable and don't report in this circumstance. Auto-report shouldn't be added until they make rag dolls absorb hits.

You haven't played lately? Or is damage absorb only on eu1?

Dead body will soak that hit in most cases. What you've experienced is hitbox issue not problem with timing. Even if your target wasn't dead, you still would miss it and hit your teammate. Hits that go through people and hit players behind them aren't new, they happen quite often if you're not careful with reach and positioning of your weapon.

you can't control people's "guilt". if they want to say sorry let them do it. I always do so I don't feel like a douche afterwards.

I like the idea of automatic report with M being an option to forgive.

Allow teammates to be hit (so your swing stops) but they don't take damage. The game is already unrealistic enough. This small change will make it less frustrating but also stop spamming without impairing teammates.

+1 to automatic reports, the amount of teamhitters on eu2 is increadible.
shooting at people from a reachable place as last man standing is not delaying. Even if you're on the other side of the map.

completely disagree. Sometimes idiots walk infront of your swing outta nowhere and happen to get hit. It is not completely your fault therefore you shouldn't be reported. I never report people unless it's completely intentional because it's an accident everyone does and i feel for them.

I agree that you shouldn't have to press M. If you hit teammates 5 times in quick succession your intentions don't matter. Whether or not you are doing it on purpose, you're basically giving the other team a two man advantage (you and your target are both screwed over).

I think that only the person who hits a teammate should get warning text, with automatic reporting. It feels like the "[player] hit you, press M to report" only makes people hit back in revenge if anything. I have accidentally hit teammates and instead of pressing M (which would have put me at 1/5 team hits) they turn around, find me, and beat me to death. If you aren't expecting it they can easily hit you more than 5 times before you start spamming M to stop them.

I've also had clanmates take turns hitting me, sometimes for no reason or because of accidental team hit. I let admins know on the server, but sometimes there's no one to enforce the rules.

My suggestion is this: if you hit teamates you get an invisible marker on you, just like when someone reports you in the current system. Each marker would expire after a set amount of time. Only you get alerted when you receive a team-hitting marker. If you honest to goodness hit three teamates by accident over 10 seconds of intense fighting, you will see that and take more caution or get kicked when you do it again. If you only hit people on accident every now and then or panic and hit a teamate after turning a corner, it won't be a big deal.

It just seems like the people who team hit on purpose get away with only 1 or 2 [M] strikes against them because they catch people off guard who are trying to play the game as intended. And the majority of [1/5] teamwound messages are truly accidental one-off strikes. You never see that player get reported again for the rest of the map.

Just my 2 cents.

edit: I disagree about heavy damage making you instantly get kicked. One accidental overhead swing or arrow/bolt onto a teammate's head would have you (and your precious multiplier) gone before you even know what you did.

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

What if 2 consecutive hits allows you to report them? They're being overly careless and it isn't just an accidental tap.
