Rome Total War. Shogun 2 Total war was cool....buuuut kinda boring cause all facs had almost same units and cultures. Empire Total War was too bugged to be enjoyable and Medieval 2 Total War was just....well better than Shogun 2 but not as sweet as Rome for me atleast.

Although I like the time frame of Rome Total War better, Medieval 2 was a superior game and the pinnacle of the series as far as mechanics go. I can't wait for EB 2, ancient time period and the well polished mechanics and graphics of Medieval 2.

Single player total war is boring as shit, Shogun 2 has by far the best multiplayer, even if it is all generic weeaboo stuff, its relatively well balanced, refined interface, has a nice mix of melee, cav, and gunpowder, persistent leveling of your vet units and commander, good matchmaking.. really fun to play.

Hopefully Rome 2 is next with similar multiplayer/interface as Shogun 2, would be awesome.

I voted MTW2, it's definitely best of all time (I still play Stainless Steel) but its starting to show its age. Not crazy about the Japan theme but the AI, single player strategy map, and multiplier are vastly improved.
