It's not just PS that affects crushthrough, but your speed bonus and the weight of the two things that are hitting affect it as well.

Mallet is just as efficient and its faster than the maul, i have a char with 6 ps and i crushtrough 90% of the time trough huscarls and everything

Yep, I also like the mallet. With 8 PS, i crushed through 19/20 times or something...was blocked really really rarely.
