Polestun removal and its prolonged debate

I'm a 2 hander, as much as I hate polestun, i do not think it should be removed. People in this game are already complaining (well you guys complain just about everything) about too many 2handers. I know that isn't limited to only the 2 handed class itself, but also refers to the polearms class. However, removing polestun may just push more people into going into 2 hander. Isn't a bit of variety and difference what we all want as opposed to having everyone go into the same class?

The reason polearms have things like polestun and longer reach is so we can differenciate it between 2 hander weapons. People are going to complain about polestuns, 2 hander stabs, this and that everyday. But that ultimately will not deter them from playing the game as those are minor things that can easily be compensated with. However, the removal of a major/minor characteristic of one class could push people to going into one class ignoring the other heavily 'nerfed' classes.

In that case, if polestun is removed other than length, what IS the difference between polearm and 2hand?

I'm a spearman and i can honestly say that we are fine without it, alltho i would like some compensation for it ;) Only thing about warspear now is that the sideswings are pretty much useless compared to earlier where you could get a lucky stagger and then land a thrust to actually deal damage.

- everyone who plays polearmer obviously has more style and is much more badass than any princess-saving 2h hero ever can be  :) :D

- polearms can stop horses

noy entirely true, in order to stop a horse, a polearm must have more then 140 length and have a pierce damaging thrust

I don't really like polestagger as a game mechanic. I'd rather the little stun people got after a hit was uniform, or rather than disabling you just gave you an athletics debuff for a second. Something along those lines. Or based on damage or where on the model you hit

2 direction weapons could get a damage buff now I guess, or their side swings back

Polearms are supposed to be support weapons, not dueling weapons.  Now fix hiltslashing and teleporting thru shields and everyone will be on pretty even ground

finally seeing some progress in mod, which is good. lots of good changes lately
