Well it doesn't matter if some random people don't see it. This is not a voting contest you know? The title outside spoilers and maybe "(contest entry)" is enough. Looshus will see it and read it. He is the judge. He is the one who's opinion you should care about. I think that massive textwalls and especially big textwalls with multiple images should be spoilered just because it's just one of these unspoken gentleman's rules.

Fair play and stuff you know?

Is this trolling thread still going on? It's been a week now, giving them any more time would
be pointless and unfair for the fast writers. I think it's time to close this thread and announce the rightfull winner(s).

hahah people still holding out hope that there will be "winners"! if there should be any winners give it to Witchcraft, the illustrations were amazing. i didn't read any of them because frankly i dont' care, but pictures man, worth a thousand words in contest that minimum was 500. DO MATH.

Yes, there will be winners.  Looshus is an honorable and honest man.  He ran a free service heirloom library for the player base for Pete's sake!

Being a just and honorable man, he will not judge an essay based on the pictures included.  It was an essay contest, not illustration contest.  Essays, by definition, are composed of words.  I don't know what kind of grading criteria he uses, but perhaps he'll allow extra credit for pictures.

Really though, none of us knows.  The facilitator of this contest has been conspicuously absent since this whole thing started.  If I knew I had this much time I could have crafted something nicer! :)

I am impressed with the essays so far though.  I've seen players so some craaazy things for ONE free loom.  17 is producing some mighty fine work I tells ya.

Rules:
The best essay, chosen by me will get all 17 loom points.
Points will be deducted for grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Extra credit will be awarded for timely entries.
500 word minimum

Any approach to the subject is acceptable
, sci fi, high fantasy, detective story, whatever.

This is how I interpreted the rules. Even if you blank out the pictures, I have 500+ words and a legitimate entry.

I read everyone's entries because I enjoy bite-size short fiction. It's really interesting to see what directions people went in using the same title for their piece. And much less rage in here than the (multiple) lottery threads!

When this is over, I think it would be fun to have a monthly community contest. Different theme each time.

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

Yeah but when you read it w/o the pictures it's not that great. With the pictures it's on of the best.
