ubuntu? :D

Old server runs Ubuntu, new server runs Windows Server 2008 R2.
Wasn't talking about the OS though.

perhaps new software at least?

Still have to fix some bugs before we can do that.

Drowning and long load time after map change fixed. Will update the server in a couple of minutes.

Man why get this beast machine and then add Windows OS on top. It's like getting a giant hamburguer and not adding ketchup...

Because the Warband dedicated server is Windows only, and unsurprisingly it runs better on Windows than on Wine.

I would be a shame to run this kind of conf on an ubuntu server ....

Windows server 2008 R2 is a complete beast with high conf.

Port it plox

You are magic cmp, you can do everything.

True story about windows servers : it's all nice, userfriendly (rather like idiotproof) and clean, then one day it very badly fails. And you derp because you can do nothing about it. Linux servers require more time and care to work properly in the first place, but when all hell breaks loose you can find the problem and fix it.

I could, but I consider it a massive waste of time.
Besides, no sane of mind developer would switch to Linux voluntarily after getting used to Visual Studio.

Damn right.

Also, Ubuntu is shitty server OS. Debian and CentOS are server distros.
