nothong happened, i disabled all the "eye candy", ragdolls 0, number of corpses 0

i get 25/30fps on spawn on this map...  :(

Edit: The map is Glacier Valley.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Does Glacier Valley still have those burning buildings off in the distance?  They wreck many users' framerates.

I get fps problem on Glacier Valley with my laptop. This map is teribad because of this =(

is there any help for those who cant see the new server although having all ports wide open and tempering with max_connection stuff?

seems like my problem was a secondary network adapter that i am running. after i deactivated all other adapters and hit refresh ingame i immidiately found EU_cRPG_1_NEW. strange that all other servers are not affected by that.

Yesterday I was spamming USA in chat 'till some nord muted me, then I spammed it in admin chat 'till some admin kicked me...

1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

Hm, I think I had less of those desync moments at the round start yesterday. Was fun with 120v120. Not even that laggy, to be honest.

Unexpected.

240 players, fully blown up (dead bodies off), 16x QCSAA, 16x Anis.

47 - 65 fps. FPS stabilize (65) at a count of ~ 190/170  players, depending on the map.

I ask myself what component chokes under full load...guess CPU cmpx?

Changing settings doesnt help under full load (which isnt a problem tbh)

All in all, there is no comparison to the first 200 slot servers.
It really is enjoyable when you got a halfway decent machine.

I was crying about lag first, but it got better now.

On the new 249 ( :mrgreen:) players map, while it's awesome to see so many players at once, it does seem to increase the lag. I've also noticed a few instances of people "flying"or walking in the air (somewhat akin to Wily Coyote's supracool powers :rolleyes:).
2 of my mates (Edas and Skyhawk) got kicked out of the game (crashes) a few times. Edas could not see the server anymore for something like a minute after one of these incidents.
I did not experience any crashes (other than the one that actually kicked all the players at the same time) last night.

It's most definitely CPU. Even if you have awesome CPU, I guess Warband isn't optimized for such high number of players and that 4/6 CPU cores won't help you much.

It would be awesome if they choose to improve Warband 2 in a way to allow 500 player servers rather than making it shiny like War of the Roses.

i have the same problem that i cannot find the EU_1 server, i cannot find any EU server at all, just the servers of the clans.
and yes i am not searching in Favorites, i am searching at the Internet servers, i am not stupid  :?
and i dont have such a secondary network adapter, (never mind I know what that is  :rolleyes:)

can someone please help me?

Yes and no. With 200+ players the GPU will have lots of work as well; especially if it's a water map and you have fast water reflections turned off.

It's most definitely CPU. Even if you have awesome CPU, I guess Warband isn't optimized for such high number of players and that 4/6 CPU cores won't help you much.

"They won't help you much" is an understatement - they won't help you at all. Warband can take advantage of 2 cores at most, one for the game logic and the other one for rendering. Since the dedicated server doesn't render anything, it's pretty much single threaded.
I profiled the server and noticed there were two major bottlenecks and that both were perfect candidates for threading. Given the results we've seen in this server, I'd say my assessment was correct. One of these two bottlenecks is present in clients as well, so when I release the client version people with multiple cores will have a significant performance increase.
