Nice "optimization update".

My FPS is unstable, and like 50-60% worse than before.

They are working on it, but god damn it this should've increased the performance, not working around even more to get it back to the same place.

They are working on it, but god damn it this should've increased the performance, not working around even more to get it back to the same place.

Seems like the perf drops some people are having is a bug, and will be fixed (read fixed more easily than improving performances).

I like the free color choice for empires (yay for yellow vanu), but I got used to the previous setup so much everything is confusing now. They really tried to improve the base designs to avoid spawn camping. As far as I can tell, it is still happening, but defenders are harder to swarm and you need more people as attacker to guard all the doors. The underground tunnels look completely artificial but we don't give a shit. I haven't noticed the xp difference for killing people that just spawned versus killing people that made kills themselves, but now there is a variable xp bonus applied to everything you do. I don't know on what it depends (now that I think of it, it is probably dependent on the number of enemies in the zone in which you are fighting)

Now when you choose empire colors you always get that same color for everything of that empire. This is confusing for me because I grow used to the previous settings of some elements taking the empire colors (say, the minimap elements, the occupation progress bar...) and other always using the red enemies/blue allies code. If I set TR to red, then I'll be confused by spot triangles on screen, if I set them to blue I'm confused by the minimap. I chose blue because the blue for ally code if very recurrent in other FPS. But yeah I'll probably get yellow NC and pink VS.

Yeah, the new colors are confusing as fuck, no matter how you color them. And they must've broken something because I'm gettin 15 FPS in bigger battles and I never had performance problems, not even in early beta.

If you can, try shooting a burster MAX at the ground.

You'll see why the FPS is going down this much, they fucked up effects so bad.

Good news for you out there who favored the older color system;

“Can we also go back to the old HUD/Mini-map coloring system? TR having red triangles over our heads are causing a LOT of TK's. It was much nicer pre-patch, just leave in the option for color blind people to change the colors.”

SOE Coder response: "That should be a configurable option in the settings, and the old system should be available as a selection."

Also;

"Just a quick update - there will be a hotfix, but we don't have an ETA for that at the moment. We've found a couple of things to address and we're trying to track down a couple more."

This I cannot argue with. They really do listen this time. Now I'm hoping we get more bases with actual indoors and some real metagame.

They pushed out a "hotfix", which broke even more stuff, tanks and guns, a lot of weapons fire blanks, FPS problems still persist.

Seriously, the hell are they doing?

PS: Got to find a different game to play mainly, until they fix this nonsense. Why push out HUGE patches if you can't control the quality of it?
 Go step by step for god's sake.

Heh, I can imagine the situation SOE hiring 100 coders from around the world and telling them "Make this game super cool". Now all the coders are doing what the want. As a resultthey made a total of 4500MB patch and a really fucked up game :D

You're right, I am bored of it.

But when it was at least playable, there were some good battles I fought, also this whole cert grinding is like crack, very addictive.
(Just a few more certs so my friend can have more ammo/zoom on my prowler, etc etc.  :mrgreen:)

Also the flying in this game is superb, other than the god awful A2A missiles, it's great.
