It depends on the size of the battle, avg armor and your willingness to burn gold.
I belive the pierce on bodkin is better than the +cut on Tatar. But comes at a cost.
The difference in length is a small con for bodkins, less chance someone will move into the arrow while it is in flight.(maybe negligble)
In large battles I usually run outa arrows with 2 packs of bodkins, and it feels like burning gold, since often you never get to the 2nd pack of arrows.
My general setup is rusbow + 1 pack of bodkin + one pack of plain arrows + 0slot hammer. In that order.
The bodkins for early hittingpower, when all have full health and second pack with regular arrows so that I dont run out should I survive until the endgame.(I often run out anyway, PITA to scavenge arrows.)
Early you seldom "overkill" your dmg is not wasted, since you only wound.
Since most arrows miss their target, the way I play atleast.
I feel the most important thing is to have enough arrows ,so that you can try the low chance of hitting shots.
2nd priority is stopping power, since you usually only get 1 hit before the enemy becomes aware and dodges/shield up/moves outa range-sight/close in and kills you.
