Yeah I don't know what to call you, because Curtis gets almost offended if someone calls him British. "I'M NOT BRITISH, I'M ENGLISH CUNT! Why do people think I'm British?!" .
Well soon we all will be just Europeans and old nations are called "states"... Just mark my words
. There will be one big country called Europe. It has State of Britain, State of Finland, State of Sweden etc... I must say I'm really horrified even from the pure thought of that. European Union is however heading that way... I'm not saying this in some weird nationalistic crazy person sense... I think that it will bring a lot of problems and numb up cultures... Also good things in economical ways, maybe.
Regardless of what he says, he is British, English = British whether or not you believe English > Britain. It's just the mindset you're brought up with to an extent. I mean, without throwing too off topic crap here, he's probably Labour, whereas I'm Conservative.
I like the idea of the European Union, but I don't think that it will ever become like you say. Britain in particular, we're already pushed out a reasonable amount because we refused to transfer to the Euro (which was a lucky escape) and therefore, it's split into the "Euro Zone" and "Europe", we're part of "Europe" but we're not in the zone so to speak.
The individual jurisdiction across the different countries within Europe break down significantly as a global government as they are going to make decisions and put forward ideas that are going to further their own country, no one thinks of other countries when they say they want something there. Unlike the US, who have been the same country since day one (want of a better phrase), all their interests are the same (more or less) in Europe, it wouldn't be.
In short, I don't think it would work, but I'm not a politician and only have a passing interest in government, enough to better myself.
