Stereotypes about Nationalities and People

We, the cRPG community, have all at one point had an experience, good or bad, with a vast amount of people from different cultures, and countries and all thanks to a game. We have all had(or still have)more or less a rather generalized opinion about certain countries, which in itself is very interesting as it is usually based on some truth. So the topic is: Have your opinions changed about certain nationalities since you started playing cRPG? I think it will be easier to answer if you are fairly new to the community as oldmy old friends most likely forgot about their original opinion but lately I must say some folks have grown on me whom I previously had a rather stereotypical or negative view about. For example turks! I love their food and the people have an innate sense of humour(badly translated to English however ). They are also usually very polite in Teamspeak as well.

That wasn't always the case however. Most Swedes have a very generalized view on some nationalities, especially the ones in the Middle East. They have a very nonchalant view about other cultures and usually think they are better. This however is pretty common with Swedes as we are usually proud about being Swedes, whether in secret or openly it always shows in what we do or say.

Anyway, I would just like to start a discussion about what observations people on the internet have about other nationalities. :)

Apart from above mentioned topic, what do you think about different groups of people after interacting with them on the internet? Don't be afraid to say something that might be seen as stereotypical because that's what we're here to sort out!

Personally I must say that Germans usually strike me to have this slightly arrogant and superior attitudes. Maybe not so strange considering the word "besserwisser" which directly translated means better-knower. Basically a smartass.

Is it just me :P?

I would say this community has changed my view on those of other nations, specifically those of Europe.
This is essentially the first online game i've ever played that has a community that interacts a lot.
Before this game, I don't think I had even spoken to someone who had a European accent, as a matter of fact.

I have met several cool Euros and I love this game.

Unban please

Stop kissing ass and maybe you'd get unbanned.

Added poll because realized the tl;dr mentality of internet and that the thread is pointless. There you go, fuckheads.

This only applies to EUs. Most of these Americans are ignorant and don't know any other culture/people. Espana or Россия, but I picked Spain!

One thing I really like about CRPG is that people from so many different countries play on the same server. All the time you will see 5-10 people with matching banners speaking in a language you can't understand, punching each others' shields, and travelling across the map together.

I picked "balkan country you can't remember the name of" because of the thread requesting a Latvian subforum made me look up "rupjmaizes" on wikipedia then I read a ton of "[country name] cuisine articles. Got several weeks of meal plans ahead thanks to that thread that had nothing to do with food  :o

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

I had to vote for Germany because they feed me now
In this community,if you cheat, which is the ultimate crime to do in a game, you can buy a second cd key and everything is fine, but if you troll you get a permaban and be in danger for a second one, fair isn`t it?

"Holland is a region in the western part of the Netherlands. The term Holland is also frequently used as a pars pro toto to refer to the whole of the Netherlands. This usage is generally accepted but disliked by Dutch people in the other parts of the Netherlands."
