ok so without me looking at the notes I took (yes I took notes) here is how things are going to go down:
- We'll need to make a team with a roster. We can only field 8 people at a time (8v8 scrims) but we can have a roster that's larger than that in case some people can't make it and we need subs
- We could theoretically make multiple teams since we might have a lot of active players interested in scrimming. The kicker is:
-...only one player on each roster. So if I'm in the roster on the first team I can't be on the roster for the second. I dont' know if we want to have just one team with a big roster, or two teams with a split smaller roster.
Team make-up:
-Max of 4 support total(support = ranged and/or cav)
-Max of 2 cav
-Max of 3 ranged (hybrids included)
So that means you can have: 3 archers 1 cav, 2 archers 2 cav, 1 ranged cav & 2 archers, or 2 ranged cav as support
Rest of the team can be whatever melee they want(currently no weapon restrictions in melee but that could change)
Armor:
When the team's created we can select two sets of armor. If we want this to be 1 light 1 heavy, 2 heavy, 2 light, whatever is fine. Only restrictions are:
-body armor (chest & gloves) can't exceed 50
-head armor can't exceed 50
-leg armor ITEM can't exceed 30 (although since body armor also gives leg armor your total leg armor can be higher than 30)
-factor in base armor when selecting equipment, masterworks that bump you over the 50/30 mark are acceptable, just as long as everyone is wearing the same things (since the likelihood is not everyone will have the same masterworks so only a few people might get some of the benefits & things should balance out)
Cav special rules:
If you are using 2 cav, only 1 can be warhorse or above.
How scrims will work:
- we give the organizers 3 days we CAN'T have matches scheduled (so probably Tuesday Wednesday Thursday or other times of the week we have low activity). The other 4 days could be open for a weekly scrim to be scheduled, usually during primetime 6PM-12PM EST. We'll have a few days notice so we can also contact the other team if we need to make schedule changes.
-When we do have a scrim scheduled, we field our 8 & they field theirs on the Raven server.
-Ideally each clan will have an admin designated, or another Raven admin might be able to officiate.
-Matches will be best of 3 maps
-Maps will be best of 3 rounds (round times 4-5 minutes each)
-Team A will play their standard map first (each team will choose a default map), and then Team B will play their map.
-If the two teams split 1-1 on the first 2 maps a 1v1 duel will happen to determine what map is played on the final best-of-three
-one team wins and one team loses! we all have fun! victory parade! Team captain or whatever logs the win with the organizers and we have another scrim scheduled a week (or less) later.
so holy crap this could be fun... although jesus I feel like we could field 2 teams easily if we are active. It's so hard to pick a good team of 8 to field!
