Throwing hybrid suggestions

Hello,
I'm really sorry for opening a thread here. I know there might be something similar posted here, but i couldn't find it.
I am now playing my level 23 2-handed Char and I don't like that.
I wanted to play something different.
Pure throwing seems boring to me, so I've decided to make a hybrid.
What is viable from these choices?:
Throwing-Polearm hybrid
or
Throwing- one handed hybrid

Yeah, they have good builds over there...I'm trying the "Thane". Remember to get your throwing WPF to a whatever you need to throw heavy axes first. Otherwise you will find you don't have the required skill to use them and you will have to wait till high levels to throw. I accidentally maxed my 1 handed first and it would have taken me till like level 28 to throw axes.

Good Luck.

1h makes best hybrid as it pairs best with a shielder.  as a shielder you are already slower than other players, so having  way to reach out and touch people that are out of range is GREAT.
plus axes are easily best throwing weapon and you and switch them to melee mode to take use of your 1h WPF.  Bring a sword or blunt and you have throwing axes melee mode if you need to break shields

Hey diggles, I got a question if you happen to check back here. When you have cav riding down on you, do you hold your axe up, aim then release...or do you anticipate and then almost click the button to throw. It seems when I do the hold, aim and release I can be too slow.

Maybe I should just be jumping out of the way if I don't have a ton of time, but cav tend to avoid me or ride around if I show my hand too early.

1st priority is always avoid getting hit by cav weapon. forget the throw if you don't have enough time to dodge their wep or raise shield.

Cav are pretty dumb so once they line you up they rarely back off, so raise your wep early and get the aim. Gotta figure out the timing so you have enough chance to jump to their non-wep side, or raise shield. Personally I prefer to take the bump and save my shield. I wear decent armour so it's usually not much HP damage.

My thrower hybrid build is a 24/15 5PT 8PS 5agi 5wm, 130wm 2h, 80ish throwing. Wear rags and your mind as the armor, very versatile, hard hitting, and mobile...just kinda fragile.

My loadout is like a heavy bastard sword or katana (depends on which douchey mood im in) and 2 sets of heavy throwing axes. Armor is whatever goofy peasant getup you want to wear. Low or no armor is required for throwing accuracy and fast footwork. The axes are really easy to land on charging cav with their massive hitbox.

Really fun skip to 30 build i play since i dont grind anymore for heirlooms.

you can throw as early as 25ft or as late as 10ft, wait til they are lined up and coming straight for you

The prob with wearing peasant gear is cav bumps hurt like hell. you will lose 25-50% of your HP when you're facing down charging cav with throwing weapons, even if you dodge at very end to avoid lance they will still probably trample you . I used to wear light leather class armor most of time and it hurt a lot and now that I wear medium I barely have to worry about it they just scratch me.

Ahh, that's too bad.

Throwing combined with 1h, hell even a shield is a really fun thingie to play.

Try it sometime.

I think the same...
But I've talked with one of my friends, who told me that it's not that efficient to go hybrid..
Would you say the same about throwing/1h hybrid?

It's surprisingly effective.

On my STF char I used the heavy throwing axes even in melee with a shield, sure they are short but also surprisingly effective in combat.

You can also be a total douche and disengage and get a few throws in, force people to come to you with switching modes.
This throws a lot of people off balance, according to my test fights in the duel server.

Just have to learn the mode switch timings and you're all set.

It's not being a douche if they decide they want to be an S key hero. I think that is more of a dick move than throwing at them mid fight.

Also, if you are throwing as they come at you and switch to melee at the last second, they almost never expect you to melee attack with the throwing weapon. (+3 throwing axe does 36 cut!)
