WM doesn't affect movement speed.

I'm not sure. In native, it does: http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,1187.msg16974.html#msg16974 It even has the bigger effect than STR (but, since it's a skill, you can't get it as high as STR). I never heard a definitive answer that the formula from native does not apply to cRPG.

So, just putting points into weapon master off-sets weight penalties?
And how!

Hm, that seems unlikely to me. Without WM I could overtake ninjas who probably had full WM. And according to formula from the above thread lack of WM should have great impact on my movement speed. I doubt that is true in cRPG.

no offence but this is a shitty build no wpf is slow swing that aint nice

My effective wpf with full set of armor is 96. With 8 WM, lvl 33 and the same armor that would be 176 wpf and 144 effective wpf. 48 effective wpf makes almost no difference, that's fraction of second, barely noticeable in the fight. I used to have 6-9 WM with my previous builds and I must say current build is much better.

Check first page  21 str 24 agi 0 WM. Eq weight: 2.6 head, 12.6 body, 1.4 hands, 2 legs, that's my normal armor. With heraldic mail with tunic, plate mittens and khergit boots I won the race with ninja guy who claimed that he's 15/27. I had longsword and he had katana, both unsheated.

According to the native formula, you are running around with encumbrance. I will try and check if the encumbrance thing actually still apply for cRPG or not.

Thanks to high str with longsword and heraldic mail I'm faster than 15/27 ninjas with lamellar vest and katana.
This is not true

Strength reduces the penalty to movement speed associated with the weight of items you are carrying
and from my experience it definitely does.
Because this is not true.

The weight penalties for movement speed and attack speed are either independent of strength or are such weak functions of strength that the effects were unmeasurable in my testing.
Because this is true. He tested all the different variables and their effect on movement speed. Can't find the full post because for some reason they are still not stickied, but what this guy says is true.

Keep in mind that Walt+F4's tests were done quite some time ago before multiple patches worth of undocumented changes.

True, but I'm pretty sure even the devs won't think of buffing strength.

It's not a buff for strength, it's a buff for balanced builds.
Of course 21\18 must be faster than 18\18 with same amount of athletics.

I'd say go for the more agile build, with a short weapon it is always good to be mobile.

well, I didn't make any tests except one when I was faster than ninja guy  That's why I think this: Strength Reduces the penalty to movement speed associated with the weight of items you are carrying is true. But maybe I'm wrong  :?

It is an advantage per strength point, therefore a buff to the strength attribute while it is already a hugely better choice than agility.

The native formula for encumbrance doesn't seem to apply to cRPG. Or maybe it only affects acceleration, and not top speed. I did some speedruns over a fixed distance with different loadouts, and they were all within 1% difference.
