Wataga had two people come the battle (5 tickets), and Lost Legion had 2 people come (2 tickets). I spawned naked, and Allers spawned with armor. I chose my armor and weapons, but of course I spawned naked. We lost to an EU and a Russian with 200s and 160s ping. I don't think this is fair, and if I had spawned with armor, we would've won.

You should wait a half of minute before entering on the server and never press on the Welcome screen after entering but wait when equip windows will appear, also you must select your equip before the battle start because you can miss some equip if you don't press Done in time.

That waiting to join is a myth, the only problem is that you can easily click one too many times and spawn naked (while you're even in the equipment menu you can still spawn naked)

No, its not a myth, it simply does not apply here: waiting is good, because your more likely to get bugs when 100 players are trying to connect to the server at the same instant.

I'm saying I've never seen the correlation between waiting to join and getting the "spawn naked" bug.  The only reason that you spawn naked is because people click through the welcome screen and once they are able to spawn, they do so immediately (even if still selecting equipment).  It's something to do with clicking too quickly, I don't think the server bugs out no matter how many people are connecting at the same time. 

Other than hearsay, I've never seen any indication that when you connect is the problem for spawning naked, just the fact that you can click through the welcome screen, equipment screen pops up, and you can still spawn even before you select "done" on the equipment screen.

also when you join before all the equipment spawns in that can do it.(when you get tons of "this item has run out" before the game acctually starts)
