Polearm build question

I'm deciding between two builds for a 2h polearm build with hoplite on the side

Code: [Select]
Level:           30

Strength:        21
Agility:         15

Skill to attr:    2

Ironflash:        7
Power Strike:     7
Shield:           5
Athletics:        5
Weapon Master:    5

Polearm:          146
using cRPG NewGen calc

or

Updated
Code: (clone ) [Select]
Level:           30

Strength:        24
Agility:         15

Skill to attr:    8

Ironflash:        5
Power Strike:     8
Shield:           5
Athletics:        5

Polearm:        111
using cRPG NewGen calc

My load out is a 1slot polearm (shortened spear) and 1slot shield (elite cav shield) for fighting in groups, as well as a 2slot polearm (long hafted blade/bec) for duels/solo fights.  Or shield with a 2slot spear for when I feel like turtling.

The first build is just the "Solid" 1h build with polearm wpf instead.  This gives me more IF and WM and allows me to use a huscarl's round shield for use with a 2slot spear (warspear).
While the second build is more hard hitting with the increased str and PS, but less IF

Which build should I got for and what should I change? More IF, 21/18, etc

I think the 2nd build is better. Only thing I would do is go 0 WM and 6 IF. You will notice 8 health more than ~25 wpf.

You might also want to consider dropping a point in IF (or WM if you are keeping it) to go 5 shield. Even if you don't use a Huscarl, it is useful to be able to pick one up if your shield breaks.

If you dont hybrid then weapon master is kinda pointless, doesnt give much. Better spend those points in IF or shield.

I would suggest the first build. Only sacrificing 1 power strike for 5 weapon master and 1 more health. Wpf is not as useless as many people claim, based on my observations. It just seems more versatile. You are not planning to be doing tons of damage with this hoplite build after all.

I guess I should say that I would use 2h Pole more often than the hoplite set

Well the build you gave is perfect for war spear/shield. If you are only sometimes going to bring a shield, I would only go 4 shield, 6 IF.

I don't think shortened spear/shield/2 slot polearm is that effective. The shortened spear is so short that it hardly gives you a range bonus over stabbing with one of the longer polearms in 2h mode. If you want to poke and have a dueling weapon, you can just do bamboo spear/2 slot duelling polearm.

War spear/Red tassel spear are both great for poking and duelling weapons though. I think for the style you want to go, they work the best as they are great with and without a shield out. This set up would work best with your build.

Well I want to carry a shield for sure, if just to block arrows and stop a flag cap.
I'll try dueling with a warspear and see how that works out for me. Thanks for the feedback

Honestly I think you can get away with having only 3 shield. Most of the time when in hoplite mode, I'm in large clusterfucks where people aren't hitting my shield much.
In a 1v1 or 2v1 you're probably going to want to put the shield down
