Spear Can't be Blocked

A while ago now I posted this topic concerning being unable to block a spear in the Swadian map. Earlier this evening another player called Semper_Fidelis was describing the same problem. He couldn't block but didn't take normal damage. This seems to be an occasionally bug affecting only 1H spear attacks, as if the engine forgets about the spear and counts it as a punch or something.

Thread necromancy, but I've now got this bug occasionally on DTV. Stabbed by a spear while blocking down, but the damage and the sound are for a blunt attack. Could it be the game showing the animation for a thrust but the actual attack being an overhead, which would explain the low damage and blunt sound?

Probably game showing that you're holding a different block than what the server registers due to desync, causing you to see the downblock while you're actually holding another block. Can happen.

But then I'd expect full spear damage and the "Shlukk!" sound, which I don't get.

The bug is now affecting all thrust attacks, not only polearms.
