I wish IRL was a steampunk world.

Well, I would think enviromental pollution would be a lot higher, with all those steam engines firing coal.
Maybe it woud be better for me to find out where you life and kill you when you are satch a Soziopath. You have enough now.

Or maybe: it's a fucking game not a simulator.

Maybe you should take off your aviation goggles and vest; let some hot air out of your balloon, buddy. Maybe I'm saying I rather would play a Hindenburg simulator.
And how!

Sooo...Anyone up to starting a fun-crew?Playing with pubbies is lame, I want someone to work with, and who maybe is smart enough to use the fucking flamethrowers if they are within reach instead of staying at the front cannon wich cant even fire on an enemy.

if you like this sort of teamwork, you would probably be better served by Pirates of the Burning Sea, which is like EVE Online-Lite.  Groups of evenly matched ships can have fights that last for 10-30 minutes.  Lots of good 6v6 & Portbattle videos on youttube

this game seems pretty underwhelming and underdeveloped for the price they're asking.

yeah, I got mislead by the great opportunities its crew system would pose, but its rather a rip-off.YOu can buy new clothes, each piece costs from 2-6 dollars.Basically, it´s an F2p where you have to pay for the client.Bullshit.And its still slightly bugged.

I always wanted to try pirates of the burning sea, might do it now, thanks(Although My problem is that I dont really have enough time for an "real" mmo, whcih is why I wanted to play GoI)

Already bought it a while ago because me and some friends have a 4 man crew. Getting pretty good actually. I hate playing with pubs though. All it needs is a retarded commander/pilot who screws up the gun configuration, or engineers who don't repair and you're pretty much fucked. So we only play it when there's at least 3 of us.

So far favourite ship for most intense fighting is a Squid. Gatling on the front, mortar on the right and sniper/flamethrower rear. Use the gatling to strip the armour then usually one mortar broadside finishes most ships instantly. At the most 2. However, take one full broadside from a galleon or junker ect and you're pretty much done. Even more hilarious when you get harpooned to one. You need to be able to rely on other people for the squid as it needs constant repairs.

At the moment I play pilot, and the others engi/gunner. No one else wants to pilot cause it's effing hard. We can now join a game on a completely gimped ship and turn the match around though. Pub stomping woo.

Resurrection.

This game now has a new persistent world map mode just released in alpha. You basically coop with 4 other crews and take on AI objectives. It's challenging and tough and a great deal of fun. If any of you have been sitting on this one and dropped it I would suggest getting back into it.

Obviously ideal if you have a group of 4 of you as you can crew your ship much better.

They've added new maps and new ships and you can pick which faction you join and fight for on the persistent map.
