no, that would not happen unless someone bids 999999 gold before the auction ends.

Also

You lose the 1mil until the auction is over, same goes for all other bidders.

You realize that many people have many times that, plus losing 1M gold for a week is worth it to amass an army of 2 gold loompoints, right? It's an investment since you'll get most of the money back at the end either by winning and paying 2 gold, or by losing and getting a refund and having someone else pay more than 1M for a +1 item.

I think you guys really need to rethink this system because as it stands now it's only going to benefit scammers.

Why not make a traditional bid where you bid your maximum and that becomes the new max? Offers *are* up for multiple days after all.

No seller gets 2 gold.
Might end up as 1 gold not sure how the 5% fee is calculated there.

Dude bids 1 gold, you bid 1mil so the highest bid is upped to 2 gold.

Updated my post above with a more detailed example.

It is exactly how ebay works without the buyout option.

Ok, then when I'll see auction with highest bid 100k or sth like that I'll bid 3.000.000, everyone who will see my bid will resign and I'll get fine item for 100k + 1  Epic win

Reread what Meow said.
I'll say it once more

First person bid 1 gold. I bid 1 million. No other offers. And what, seller get 1 gold? Am I right?

did you read what Meow said, he'll deposit the 3m until the end of the auction then he will get *all* of the money back except the previous bidder's price +1. This is a hoarders goldmine here, get it while it's hot. I know 1M gold seems like a lot to some but there are many who have been doing nothing but selling loompoints every retirement and not buying terribly much.

Everyone who has been amassing gold is about to have some serious goodtimes if this isn't fixed and i mean as in post haste.

Plus it doesn't really have to be 1M, given that most +1s sell at around 300K just put up 600K which is double the price and watch as no one else bids. Or if they do you get your money back, no risk involved. This is literally the best investment scheme ever in this game and it's made directly possible by the system.

I do not understand your problem, tell ebay what your problem with this system is please?

Obviously if people like bidding 3mil for an item and no one else wants it they will get it cheaper.

Let me clarify: If you don't care about your money you can outbid every other person and probably get some items cheap and some way overpriced since some people are willing to pay more for the item than you expected.

Another example:

+1 item - you bid 1.5mil so no one outbids you.
Someone really wants the item bids 650k.

You automatically outbid him and pay 650001 gold for a +1 item.

Now there is a +1 item and two people think "haha totally gonna offer way more than it's worth so no one outbids me"
A bids 1.5 mil gold
B bids 2 mil gold.

B gets the +1 item for 1.500.001 gold.

GREAT DEAL BRO!

Okay let me explain, in ebay people have a reserve, however when the reserve is set for ebay it's not listed as the highest price- is that what you're saying is happening in the auction house? As in:

Player 1 bids 150K

Player 2 bids 1Million

The maximum bid is now shown in the listings as 150K + 1 or is it shown as 1Million?

perhaps i didn't make myself clear. sry.
Yes, this works just like on ebay, you place your maximum bid (maximum amount you would pay), but it doesn't show up instantly.
so if the highest bid was 5k and you bid 1m it will show up as 10k.
but if someone bids 2.9m you will pay 3m.

Updated with an example above.

What is the problem again?

Don't auction your items if you want a minimum price.

Edit:

Exactly.

People who bid high to outbit everyone else will get fucked by other people doing that.
