You're going to be really slow with a maul and a shield.  Just so you know.

Drop shield, and either get more IF or more WM. Since mauls are slow, higher wpf should benefit it more. I was thinking of something like a 21/21 or 18 mauler with 3WM or more to try out eventually

God damnit not a long maul!!! The only damn weapon I have absolutely no way to fight against. 

Seriously though, you may want more ath than that. Mauls generally do best in group fights, but without at least a little ath it can be tough to keep up with the rest of the group or to get into a good position.

Unless you plan on standing on top of a wall on siege or always having other people to back you up that would be terrible for a long maul build.

The long maul is the slowest weapon in the game. Unless you can keep people at the very end of its swing, you'll get spammed to death.

I use a 21/18 build for it myself and I can duel pretty well with it. Even with only 7 ps I still can 2-shot a good majority of the people I come across. 1st hit almost always knocks them down and second kills them.
