I've played a lot of total war. But what all games and mods failed was to make it hard.
It's simply wasn't hard enough, no matter the game, the mod or the civilization I played.

For me, that's the reason I stopped playing those games.

I've never played multiplayer. Only single player campaigns.
The last mod I played a lot was Broken crescent.

Stainless Steel mod, Bygs Grim Reality sub-mod? Latest version?
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

Stainless Steel mod, Bygs Grim Reality sub-mod? Latest version?

I stopped playing total war a long time ago. Maybe it's 2-3 years. Not sure.
But I did play a lot when I played.

I'll give it a new try again with this BGR mod :D.
Thanks for the tip.

BGR V makes the game really challenging. Tried out as Denmark, got crushed by the HRE and Norway.

What kind of turn times are we talking though? I think I've tried BGR once quite a while ago, but I GTX due to 5-10 minute turn times.

2-4 minutes in average, almost like getting killed in the middle of a battle in crpg

(click to show/hide)

The moment you start the quickloading thing whenever you lose an assassin or battle, you cannot lose, no matter how bad things are.
To try without and on vh/vh is for masochists tho

Finally downloaded and installed the mod but can't play it (non steam version). When I start the campaign a message with "Please select an item from the list" pops up without giving me any options...

Edit: Ok, it is working now. :)

Anyone know what I need to do to start at a later date? I do play 0.5 year per turn, but I honestly enjoy the time period from 1290--- onwards since more advanced armor, troops and gunpowder gets introduced. Changing start date in the campaign script makes the events go funky  :|

There is none.

This guy is working on a 1390 start. Hopefully he finishes it eventually.

Time to give SS 6.4 + BYG-V another try, this time with the calmest AI on. Prolly going to try Castille.

I will prolly lose a couple of campaigns until I learn this new system.
