... That would work, if the majority of the forum inhabitants would be adult and civilized to a certain degree ...
Anyway if you want such a system, use the hate system Chad.
Each player has a "hate" status (just like the awesome bar)
You can give hate (x+5), but whenever you give hate, you also get some more (x+2). The more hate you have, the longer you have to wait between posts/ratings/giving hate/New Topics. Hate reduces itself over time (like 1/hour).
With that system if someone runs around, "hating" everyone else, he soon will be unable to do so, crippling himself in the process while only having minor impact on everyone else.
If someone seriously draws offense from a wide group, he/she will be also crippled/removed/forced to think about his/her votes and posts.
Still a childish system, but at least it works better.
This would of been the obvious choice to such a system but the current new system is nothing but troll. I went from +6 to -18 in 24 hours since he posted this new system for absolutely no reason at all. Just haters hating. I guess there is an organized group of indiviuals who feel they are the REAL community here and have decided they would like to be alone.
It's obvious now that if you do not share the group majority opinion or at least share EVERYONES differing opinions mentioning that you share them all every time you type then someone will troll point you just for existing. Would it not be simpler to simply address the haters actual issues and grow past their new found ability to thin a population into a collective agreement within say 1 weeks time. I already see members muted due to troll points that were not muted before. There is always the real original forum unless that too has been
patched destroyed with this new system.
Probably the stupidest system I have ever seen implemented in a forum. It's as close minded as it gets and proves to me that chadz is every bit of the troll people always said he was. It also leads me to doubt the stability in CRPG as a whole since it seems chadz is done with it seeing his behaviour with the forum itself. Slow death premonition.
You can say I act as though it's my god given right to play crpg or use the forum but you act like god while spitting in the face of the community that has grown to support you and your creation. Big deal, you made a mod for a game that someone else developed and distributed. There I said it, truth or not I threw it out there. I personally doubt that before saying any of this I would of ever been muted but watching community members get muted with that overwhelming feeling that they could possibly get banned somehow makes this all a joke. But the jokes on you chadz cause we are the gaming community - piss us off and you can stay flipping burgers at McDonalds.
I somehow feel like I am speaking for the collective small group of 'labelled' trolls who can't speak for themselves right now.
