It should definitely be on, word from on high, the lips of MEOW himself.   :D

You could ignore me, the guy who has a higher framerate and a worse computer, but what do I know, eh?

I believe it has something to do with M&B sucking at multicore processing.

"Force single threading" should be off, unless you have a really shit computer (single core/weak dual core). You can try enabling in on your quad core, all it will do is kill your frame rate even more. And no, Warband's implementation of threaded rendering isn't particularly bad (i.e. there's much worse).

As for the OP... I haven't noticed any changes in performance. If more people experience the same problems we might be able to figure out if they have something in common, but for now there's not much we can do.

Just sayin' what meow told me.  I would lag terribly whenever I would start fighting, turned force single threading on and it fixed it.

Same with me, I bought a new graphics card a day or 2 before the patch and capped my fps at 120 and it never dropped. After the patch I still get a solid amount of fps, but its sometimes below 100.

i mean can you say what you had to specifically do to Crpg to update it with the current warband, i just dont understand how i can still run Native(DX9 Ultra High) just fine, but yet i cant run Crpg(DX7 Low) anymore as i had it before.

I had constant drop in frame rate today. Doesn't usually happen, although very rarely it does but never lasts for most than 10 seconds. Today it was constant.

Restarting my PC seemed to fix it, but now I don't know

Pretty much nothing, that's why it's odd. Maybe the fact that we use a renamed executable is interfering with some driver optimization, but that's a long shot.

Maps are the problem, as usual. Some are terribly optimized.

Can you give me an example of a map that's particularly bad? I can try and profile it to see what's killing the performance.

Can't tell atm, I'm not obitus...

Usually it's not the whole map, just one portion of it where fps is in range of 10-20. And no, I'm not talking about trees. My PC has no problems with rendering many trees.

Well if I launch the crpg launcher and choose "play crpg" I get a RGL error (and a popup saying I ran out of memory, which is impossible when I can run 5 instances of warband on high graphics and have 5 battles raging at once).  I re-launch the crpg launcher (WSE) and then choose play warband, get the scary message, click through and I'm able to join games (doesn't give me the RGL error).

For me the problems startet after adding the new Byzantium-Armorsets, I think.
Could it be that those textures are done in a higher resolution or are differently optimized?
I noticed that lowering Texture "detail" (or a similiar option in the graphics menu - not sure about the exact term) to 75% or lower and lowering the "character detail" setting to the same setting is helping the performance on my rig quite a bit.
Lowering the "visible corpse" setting has a good impact either.

Those things seem to point to texture-memory issues.

FYI: AMD HD6870, 8GB RAM and a potent CPU (I cant remember the name atm)  8-)

the performance loss dates even more backwards for me. i'm not quite sure when i was playing crpg on full settings on my notebook, but i'm sure it was quite some time. it could be like 6 months ago? from then on the speed creepily decreased until i found out i'm not sure if i shouldn't switch to dx7. but i said no to myself and rather switched to shogun 2 with all details on high and aliasing on.
