For those of you who cannot open the game because you are using steam. Download 1.143 the whole thing (580 mb +) will takes more than a hour. So download this instead  (10 mb) and put it in your steam warband folder just like mine:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\mountblade warband. Paste it there and overwrite everything, use steam to open the game problem solved.

Also make sure you disable auto update for warband, to do this. Open steam, right click warband, press update and turn it off.

2. Right click "Mount & Blade: Warband"
3. Select "Properties"
4. Go over the "updates" tab
5. Select "Do not automatically update this game"
6. Enjoy?

Why'd you download the full update, when the one weighting 10mb is working?

1. Unpack the update
2. Select all the files inside
3. Paste them into your Steam/Steamapps/common/Mount And Blade: Warband file
4. Replace all
5. Launch crpg
6. Enjoy? 

If it somehow updates, you just have to do the above once again (2 minutes?)

i wait for new crpg patch

I knew I should have done this... you made the right decision.

I tried to follow instructions and failed apparently. Got a 2nd 1.43 client but every time I try to play It kicks me from the server and says the servers version is out of date and that my character belongs to someone else.

i dont think so, i tried the launcher and it updated Crpg but then tells me i have a trial version. i ignored that and went into game but couldn't play. and when i went to enter my steam cd key its the wrong format. steam is 5x5 while they ask for 4x4. i dont know whtas going on here. help please

Yeah same, unable to play using the launcher and starting it without launcher gives me an outdated version warning ingame.
