On the first Beta Weekend I quickly found out how to play this class, Its pretty fun.
Trait Point spread
Deadly Arts - 25: Snag Mug and Residual Venom.
Critical Strikes - : 25 : Hidden Killer, Executioner
Shadow Arts - 15: Hidden Thief
Acrobatics - 5: Swiftness on a Dodge
Do you need any better reason?
Weapon Set up
Main weapons: Dual Daggers
Strike chain - Heart Seeker - Leaping Death Blossom - Dancing Dager - Cloak and Dagger
Secondary Weapons
Any ranged weapons in the event your foe is SOMEHOW getting away.

Heals: Hide in Shadows
Skillz: Assassin Signet - Shadow trap - Scorpion Wire (GET OVER HERE!)
Final Smash Elite skill: Basilisk Venom
As you can see above, youll have incredible burst damage at the start and end of the fight. You have the tools to get behind your foe and use Backstab to its full power, and some Mid-game tricks to help you out. Into detail now!
Initial Burst
Oh look, a innocent little mage.. Youre right behind Mr.Necro and he dont see you. What would a Thief do?
STEAL HIS SCEPTER OF PWN +1!Start off with Steal from behind. Youll shadowstep to your target and then be put into steal, Mug comes into play, you give dem boo boos.
Mr.Necro: O_o Where is my epic staff? Why am I bleeding? Wats going on? OMGLOLKFC?
Hey you are behind this oddly annoying emo mage. Wat do? BACKSTAB.
Ka-shank! 4K Crit (You have your base 2000 and that 50% chance, why not?)
That backstab wont be the last! Lets take that badass crit ontop of Mug, you just did a nice chunk of damage.
Think its over? Not by a long shot! Youll want to wait and evade an attack for Swiftness, get in close and.. CLOAK AND DAGGER! -Weakness applied- -Let stealth- -Le Backstab again-
Assuming your foe isnt a Warrior or Guardain, has about 20K HP, and minimal toughness, they should be anywhere from 50-65% total HP. You should still be at Max HP. They have Weakness still applied. Spam your Auto attack and keep up the evasion for Speed buffs. Get them down to 25% HP, Or 33% if you want to get the deed done faster but risk a fullheal. Also, check out what you stole and use it!
Crap, Im getting smoked, wat do? I see things arent going as planed, well its time to use our Cooldowns, assuming you have your Venom, use it! Its a 2 second stun. (We specced for two just hit them twice as you spin around them) and hit with Cloak and Dagger again.

Executioner has procced, Heartseeker is at max power. Your foe will think youll keep DPS substantiated at its current state, WRONG. Its time to finish them. Heartseeker, Assassin Signet, Heartseeker, Dead. Good luck healing through that! :3
