Got it at level 2. Beat that.

Also got it 6 times on one alt. Now that's pretty useless.
And thus, 0 times on my main since then.

...But I don't get why you want to make a distinction between loomed items I think it's pretty hard increasing mw stuff. Donating heirlooms is pretty rough imo.
The point is that MW should be something really really hard to get and if you have the choice between crafting 9 items of first level loom 3 of second or 1 of third complettly to max smithingskill is upto you. In terms of clans they can try to get their members to then specialize on certain things or so that everyone has like 2-3 things he is good at and they all feel needed for strategus. Not having one dude doing it all and the others need to step back because they are just not good enough in terms of cost/production. You know how tough it is as a Clan Leader to tell some guys who are proud on their accomplishments as crafter "sry we got the other guy there he is so awesome in so many things we don't need your shit" , so wrong on so many levels.

EDIT: also max lvl players are those who will be those best at using their stuff at least in terms of skillpoints and attribute points. So them not being able to get their smithing skills up doesn't feels right at all. I wouldn't have a problem to bind it more to players contributions to the team, but those things would be tougher to implement.

I don't think people who've played enough generations to level up to 35 need even more of an advantage.  If it was like that it'd be even harder for new players with more people at lvl 31+.  I like how you have to choose between being a superwarrior™ or crafter, both are good options.

Plus it's probably harder to get anything up learn things when you're that old.

you think wrong, as it is the natural way everyone will go sooner or perhaps a lot later but still.
And there will always be those who have too much time on their hands to exessively play games like this and they will be therefor most likely always in an advantage to those who don't invest that much time. If you look at devs and admins who are active since the start of this mod or other players, at some point they have the looms they want and go for max level.

As that happens also those who just arrived at generation 18+ who have their looms they want and ontop of it they will have the smithing skills maxed out. I know personally of at least 7 people where that is the case and i believe there are many more out there i don't know of. So if you think they don't need it is irrelevant because they already have it!

With the suggestion i made it would be even for anyone depending on the time invested and even tougher to get max loomed items for strategus as first you need to loom them and then you need to focus on an item. Master smiths would be rare and not spreading like wildfire which i promise you is happening atm already.

And to counter all the superior imba builds, therefor we got balanced items balanced attr and skill progression and a need of massiv XP to squeeze out another skillpoint ^^

i guess that depends on how much you guys within the clan are able to communicate it and how exactly the smithing skill point destributio nwould work then.

but lets just make an example.

3 players all like 12th generation players out of one clan. (not uncommon nowadays ^^)
=> 12 MW loomed items. perhaps half of them is double as they use similar stuff => so 6 unique MW items on 3 players, 2 each

If you get 1 skill point per 1 million xp, then you get around 6 skill points per generation. A 12 generation player would have 72 skill points. doesn't sound enough so make it times 3, 216. (Is the max skillpoints still 150 or is it less?) So with 216 skill points without the increase in infestemnt per loomlevel. a 12th generation player would be able to smith 1 MW item at full efficency and 1 at about 1/3 efficency.

on 3 12th gen players it would be 3 full efficency MW items and 3 1/3 eff MW items.
With that you can already get some nice gear with only 3 players.
Imagine there are 10 guys in a clan with good internal communication, imagine 20 30 or even more.
Now i am aware of that a clan is not an even thing, there are players who just started playing cRPG and then there are oldtimers grinding like forever(Netzwerk whats your generation and level now? Cunion i heared half a year back you would be lvl 35 already back then? Kesh? ...)

I know there are some players which are part of the community for a very long time and still are working on generation 2 or 3, but you are not investing that much time in your main character as many of the other guys. So who should orientate himself after whom?
For me it is not about that but that in the end Strategus is not overcrowded by Masterwork stuff. We have the system now in action for one season and at the end of it, it should be reconsidered.
