lets also not forget that heirlooms give a flat +3 damage instead of a % which means hierlooming low dmg weapons has a bigger impact, this is overall a good thing imo to make underused lower tier weapons an edge. but it does skew 1h balance somewhat.
It also adds speed rating. 1handed weapons are quite fast, compared to 2h. So heirlooming adds some good % bonuses to 2hands too.

If they would remove the fucking turnrate nerf then maybe I wouldn't have to rely on the lame ass leftswing. Overhead was my attack of choice before and my aim with it was almost impeccable. Now it is really hard to even hit people with it. If they move to the side I can't even keep up and miss. Because it is a fast attack I can turn 30 degrees at most during the animation. Which on the close range I normally use it, is really not far enough.

Was great maul overhead spam the only reason why they fucked up the turn on overheads?
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.

I think the reason were the stabs.
Some poles have the same attack on up and down. So in order to nerf those, both attacks had to be modified.

At least it sounds like a good explanation to me, as good as any.

The turn rate was slowed down because spinning was silly, not to nerf a particular weapon class.

Fixes were already annouced by cmp.
So just relax and do something useful.

Not sure what fixes you're talking about. These values are final and it's unlikely they will change a lot.

I'm considering it, haven't decided yet. But even if I add it, the values for short weapons will be nothing like the old ones.

One-handed overhead is silly right now. Sidestepping out of the turning cone is really easy for the enemy at facehug range, aka where most hitlslashing 2h linger.

One-handed overhead is fine!

I don't think you realize how useless overhead is now with 1h weps. People are in your face and circling you and you constantly have to turn with them to match, when you start a swing they are often 90 degrees away from where they started so it's almost impossible to land overheads against a move target upclose when you are only allowed to adjust 30 degrees now.

Even 2h/polearm overhead/stab don't have it so bad cuz at longer range there is less  possible degrees of movement by the target, but at point blank, which is the range basically all 50-75 length weapons fight at, the movement adjustments are hugely magnified. You hit short weps a lot harder than long ones if the mechanic was intended to limit polearm stab spins, and 2h stab/overhead drags.

Now basically Im reduced to only doing left swing attacks with my 73 length wep since overheads are so easy to miss and right swings are so tricky that they are very situational (I only use them maybe 10% of time).

I agree. 15 or so gens as a one hander so I have some experience. I have a three direction iberian mace. This huge nerf has effectively made it 2 direction. As already stated right swing is far less useful. only time overhead is useful now is to hit people that get knocked down.

Hope u are not the end word on this mechanic. Because unfortunately your opinion that it is fine is wrong.

I can land 1h overheads just fine. You just have to predict where the enemy is going to be then attack that spot, instead of just left-click then dragging to where you want. Of course it's not as usefull as it was, a lot more predictable and easier to avoid, but isn't that the point? It's the same with any other weapon. 1h lacking range has always been one of it's downsides, just addapt and deal with it.
