Overall best builds and gear
« on: April 10, 2012, 01:03:26 am »

So it seems any time I try and duplicate someone elses build exactly (same weapon, same armor, same stats) I still get one hit more easily than they do, and not only that, they get more one hit slices than I do (Factoring out skill here, this is purely dmg related)

So.

Overall, id love for people to post the best builds theyve had experiences with. Easiest to 1 hit, Fastest, Best balanced, Best weapons to use with those, Easiest to evade, Best footwork, Best gear loadout

Im really lost and this game is so strangling to try new stuff because you don't know if its good until around level 24, and I usually lose faith in a build long before that. Mostly because the leveling system is extremely redundant and useless its more like  [1        HORRIBLE         20][21  DECENT 31] I still get kills every now and then at low levels but its a horrible experience going through it.

Now youre not just gonna have people tell you thiss style is best and this is how footwork works youre gonna have 2 practice blocking footwork and the most important thing is battle awareness knowing what youre up agains when to run and where and when 2 fight but very good builds for basic speed and high health with high dmg is this one :

Level 30

Strength: 24
Agility: 15
Hit points: 75
Ironflesh: 8
Athletics: 5
Weapon Master: 2 you can put these in shield if you want 2

Two Handed: 125
or
Polearm: 125

or els if this doesn't work chekc out the solid build threde:
http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,9160.0.html
or calculate you own build :D
http://infinitum.dyndns.org/crpg/calc.htm

and try making skip the fun caracters to try shit out

That's retarded. It takes so much playtime to get to a decent level where your build starts to matter, and you never get to see it fully decked out because it takes so long and you don't know if you want to keep it. Why can't a respec be 20k. The games designed so there's a constant flow of people who are too low level to have any effect so the high levels can plow through them.

And don't say stats don't matter because they make all the difference between surviving 1 hit and surviving 6 and no only that they make a difference between killing in 1 hit or killing in 6. Manually blocking is very exhausting when trying to win a fight, and if it goes on too long you'll eventually slip one and be hit once because your stats are too low, where the other guy has already been hit by you 3 times.

/rant lol

I usually prefer to use shields because manually blocking isn't good for siege usually, but I may try pole arms. Thanks for the builds and hopefully people will post some more

Learn to manual block. Seriously, even for Siege, shields are only necessary for ranged or if 5-6 attackers are hitting you, and in that case your shield is gonna bust anyways.

I can manual block, but only if people are going to actually swing. Too many people feint and constantly interrupt swings for me to block them. So instead of dealing with the unrealistic lightning fast direction changes and swing stops I just use a shield.

Play on duel server and you'll get used to all those feints.

What's the best of the 2 handed weapons to learn to block with? Pole arms for the distance and speed?

A wooden practise sword.

Get a friend with one and practise blocking together. The wooden sword won't kill you every time you miss a block.

The problem is even if you are number 1 in NA you are still only number 467 in EU or the worst in AUS(number 17)

Generally shorter weapons will force you to block more due to enemy having range advantage.

If your going to try out 2h do as that guy said with the wooden practice sword on the duel server. If you want practice fighint in groups to to siege and try out a longsword or a heavy bastard sword as theyre light and fast but short so you have to block to survive long enough to kill others. It really comes down to practicing with a certain class until you can get a feel for how you like to play with it.

This is my 2h inf build I love ( but I'm cav now)

Strength 21
Agility    21
Ironflesh 0
Power strike 7
Athletics.     7
Weapon master 3
WPF.     137 2h ( I think thats about right)

Note I wouldnt recommend this build for newer players as it's quite fragile
My horse is named pebbles and we like to try.
