Lets make map makers realize we all dont have the best PCs

I myself am running an 8 core AMD (AMD FX-8120 Zambezi) with two 6970's in crossfire and 12 GB of ram, and there is still times where certain maps makes me hit the 40-50 FPS range, even lower and I can only imagine how that feels to others judging by the screenshots i see on the forums looking like playstation 1 games

I really think the map makes or whoever is in charge of map rotation should be aware of what makes maps lag, and maybe fucking stress test it so im not trying to fight my way through shitty FPS wondering when the map will be over

Mount and blade doesn't require a good pc at all.

The problem like quite a few games, is that in certain areas of maps and maps in general, because of how they were made lag. Your fps will go down a lot. It doesn't matter on your computer specs, just bad programming.

But yah some maps can be fixed to make the fps stay high.

For real though, my PC is also weak and lags on large maps. I even play on low settings. It would be nice if someone paid more attention to the map rotation and did a little quality control. 30 great maps would be better than 100 bad ones, especially since the selection is random.

True story. Most maps run fine, some maps don't. I don't want to degrade myself using dx7 in 2012.

Not quite sure why you'd think that this thread should be in the suggestion forum when we have a perfectly good subforum that's specifically for Scene Editing.

Anyway, I've been on Full EU1 for a couple of these 'lagging' maps and most people, if any have no problems with them (well, besides general whining about it being an archer/inf/cav map that is). There is no night maps. There is a nigh/day-weather system that dictates all that.

Some siege maps are really weird. Spawn, look at countryside, no lag. Peak at the castle, FPS drops to 30. And my computer can easily run games on Max Settings, just few Siege maps Especially that HRE one

I ran fraps alongside cRPG the other day for the first time and I was getting mainly 40 to 50 fps, with a little above 50 at good times. I've been playing with the same setup since I started. lol

(Yizzz I use a laptop and nuuuuu I cannot afford a new rig)
