Useless shield

That do not only bolts and arrows, it seems that melee weapon too.
You think that your shield protect you but no shield cheat you.
At point I have to say that I dont understand this item decision.

Just get a shitty lolhuscarl with the uber forcefield 180 technology. Problem solved.
Be unique, get a huscarl, use a sidesword, and get some throwing!

This looks like a case where your shield was lowered for a fraction of a second (due to user error or information loss online) and the arrow was in the right place at the right time.

Or, you have a really low shield skill coupled with a shield that has poor hit detection.

No my shield was penetrated like the pics show, shield was up, thats is the point of that thread, the shield model and data of the shield dont match.

ya, but the model is larger than the blockable area. They went a bit overboard with the shield nerf.

To the OP: I wouldn't recommend less than 4 shield skill.

Shields always block projectiles, wether RMB is held or not. The only time they do not, is when you have it on your back, but it will then reduce damage taken by a % (I thought 50%, not sure).

The other day I was aiming with a xbow at a guy behind his round shield. His legs and body were covered by the wall and the shield clearly up protecting the head. I could not see anything of him, just the shield. I tried to shoot the shield just for fun, to tease him. Boom. Headshot.

Yeah, when i was trying to make a mod for Warband, in item editor i saw strange thing: bolts have "checked" a "pass through shields" bonus! Is that the whole thing?

Could we add it to, for example, bodkin arrows? Would make using them a bit more interesting and paying off, especially as high str archer - because im almost sure this bonus depends on power of shot.

I would rather not take away the main counter against us Archers. I say let the shielders have to worry against only xbowmen. I like being blocked by a player class as it makes the game more interesting to have a specific weakness.

Guys, if you want arrows to pierce shields, you just want a nerf. Shields are the only things protecting you from a barrage of arrows, leave them be.

Actually, with shield skill 5, I get shot both above and below a heavy round shield quite often, as well in the right (weapon) side of my body. There is no force field in crpg, shield skill simply adds to resistance and hp of shields.
