Plated charger, full plate armor with steel shield like Lady Gaga's armor must cost mountains of gold to maintain. Even if you had over 100k stored you'd probably run out in just a few days of playing.
I know people are complaining about the huge maintenance costs but here's a thought:
chadz promised to never remove items or take away your gold and such. However if the maintenance costs were lower, people with huge amounts of stockpiled gold (I'm looking at you Finished/Michael
) would be able to keep playing their OP builds for months still.
But what if for the first week of the patch, maintenance costs are sky high ? People with crap gear won't notice much of it, while someone running around with a plated charger and so on would run dry in days, effectively removing their gold with their own hands, and leveling the playing field again.
Sounds like a conspiracy theory but I wouldn't put this beyoned chadz&Co
