Katana: crappy steel, crappy design dating from 1100, not good at stabbing, not as efficient of european weapons of several millenia earlier, let alone the weapons of the same time period. For almost a thousand years these were used by samurai IF THEY HAD NO OTHER CHOICE: Almost 100% of samurai were horse archers, and carried a spear or naginata (in crpg, long hafted blade).

We need realistic swords: the "longsword" we have is huge tbh, a shorter 1handed sword that can be wielded 2handed, much like the langes messer, but straight, akin to the Nordic champ sword, WAS called a Longsword for hundreds of years. More 1handers need 2handed mode, and katana needs a massive nerf to make it realistic.
