I believe that is the shieldwall bonus or something. There used to be this feature, that, when you stood next to another shielder with your shield raised up, you received a bonus to your shield skill, thus making shieldwalls very tough. It disappeared and now, i guess, it is back again.

Yeah, this. It used to be only for strat, but I guess it's come back to all of cRPG :D.

Stood only or you can move in shieldwall with this bonus too?

Yup I've had quite big shield wall bonuses with PL. I think we had a +7 at one point. But it was added a while ago now.

too bad its still pretty useless

you can take like 1 or 2 extra hits from a shield breaker, thats about all it ever does.  still get hit by arrows as do people behind you

Depending on how high the bonus goes and how high your shield is, you could easily reach 13 SS.

Our shieldwall a couple of days ago blocked every arrow and bolt coming, even those that were aimed for the gaps between our shields.
Maybe you need a certain + skill then

Once you get to the magic 13 shield, your shield is undestroyable, no matter the axe. Unsure about crushthrough.
